4 MG Upcoming EVs
JSW MG Motor India are set to launch four electric vehicles in the Indian market; they are the MG S5 EV, the MG 520 Eksion EV, the MG Binguo EV, and the MG IM6. The launch date, ex-showroom price, specification and features are discussed below for each upcoming EV.
MG S5 EV
It is expected to be a generation replacement for the MG ZS EV, which is expected to be a larger and premium SUV based on the Modular Scalable Platform. It is expected to be launched in late 2026 or early 2027 with a showroom price of between ₹22 and 28 lakh.
It is expected to come with two battery packs, one of 49 kWh and the other of 60 to 62 kWh, which is expected to give a real-world range of around 500 km on a full charge. Its motor power is expected to be between 167 and 228 BHP and torque of 250 Nm.
It will feature a 15.6-inch touchscreen for infotainment, along with an additional 10.25-inch touchscreen in the form of a digital cluster. Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and Level 2 ADAS provide a premium feel.
MG 520 Eksion EV
It is set to be based on the Wuling Starlight 560, with an expected showroom price starting at ₹25 lakh and rising to ₹30 lakh for the top-end variant. While the launch date has not been officially confirmed, it is anticipated that the vehicle will be introduced in the Indian market towards the end of 2026.
It will feature a single battery pack of 56.5 kWh, which is expected to deliver a range of 500 kilometres on a full charge, based on a mixed driving cycle that includes both city and highway conditions. The vehicle is expected to generate 136 bhp of power, with a maximum torque output of 200 Nm.
The exterior design of MG 520 Eksion EV
promises to be both modern, stylish and aerodynamic, while the interior is designed to offer a premium feel through the use of soft-touch materials and advanced features aimed at ensuring optimal comfort and convenience for occupants.
MG Binguo EV
It’s an electric hatchback poised to be an urban-focused and budget-friendly EV. While the launch date has not yet been confirmed by the automaker, media sources suggest that the launch is expected around late-2026, with an estimated ex-showroom price ranging between ₹8 lakh and ₹12 lakh.
It will be available with three battery pack options, which are 17.3 kWh, 31.9 kWh, and 37.9 kWh, which offer CLTC ranges of 203 km, 333 km, and 410 km, respectively. The vehicle features a single-motor configuration paired with a single-speed automatic transmission; the motor generates a specific amount of bhp power and 180 Nm of torque.
The vehicle is set to come equipped with dual-tone styling, a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, connected car features, and city-friendly design. Its wheelbase is going to be reasonably longer to provide better stability, while the ground clearance will be tailored to Indian road conditions to tackle speed breakers.
MG IM6
It is a flagship luxury SUV, expected to launch in the Indian market in October 2026 with an ex-showroom price ranging between ₹60 lakh and ₹70 lakh. It features a 100 kWh battery pack and is available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
The RWD variant generates 401 BHP of power and 500 Nm of torque, while the AWD variant produces 741 BHP of power and 809 Nm of torque; on a full charge, it offers a driving range of 505 kilometres. Its electrical architecture is based on an 800-volt system, which supports rapid charging; when connected to a 400 kW DC charger, it takes approximately 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.
To enhance its premium appeal, this EV comes equipped with ventilated and heated seats, as well as large screens for both infotainment and the digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, to ensure safety and security, it features Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) and LiDAR technology.
