The GWM Ora 5 is a compact electric SUV manufactured by Great Wall Motor, a Chinese automaker. It was globally unveiled in September 2025 and subsequently launched in the Chinese market in December 2025.
Following its debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026, it has now been launched in Thailand as well, available in two variants, the Pro and the Ultra, priced at ฿629,000 (₹14.5 lakh) and ฿699,000 (₹16 lakh), respectively.
It will soon be launched in Australia as well as in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations member countries; however, no details regarding the launch of this EV in India are currently available in the public domain.

The GWM Ora 5 is based on Great Wall Motor’s Lemon platform, which features a modular ‘skateboard-style’ structure, and its electric architecture is 400-volt, which supports fast charging. It comes with a single battery pack, which gives a good range on a full charge.

Powerstain & Performance
The GWM Ora 5 comes with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is mounted with the front wheels. It features a front-wheel drive configuration with a single-speed automatic transmission. The motor mounted in this electric vehicle generates the power of 201 hp and torque of 260 Nm.
The acceleration timing of 0 to 100 km/h is 7.5 seconds, which is so quick for city driving as well as highway commuting, and the top speed of 170 km/h is decent in the segment; it is good for the electric vehicle buyers who are looking for a car with a smooth and silent driving experience with decent top speed.
Battery, Range & Charging
The GWM Ora 5 comes equipped with a 58.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering an NEDC range of 502 kilometres on a full charge; its real-world range is expected to fall between 400 and 450 kilometres for city and highway driving, respectively.
It supports both AC and DC charging, with maximum capacities of 6.6 kW and 120 kW, respectively. With the DC charger, reaching 20 to 80% charge takes just around 30 minutes, while the AC charger requires approximately 9 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
Dimensions & Space
The GWM Ora 5 is a compact electric SUV featuring a seating capacity for five people, arranged across two rows. It measures 4471 mm in length, giving it a bold presence on the road, and its height of 1833 mm ensures ample headroom also for rear seating passengers.
This electric vehicle has a width of 1641 mm, making every seat feel quite spacious; furthermore, its wheelbase of 2720 mm not only contributes to superior legroom but also enhances stability at high speeds.
It offers a boot space of 377 litres, sufficient to easily accommodate three large pieces of luggage or five small ones, and features foldable rear seats that can be stowed away to expand the available cargo space.

The GWM Ora 5 is based on the ‘Natural Aesthetics’ design concept and is available in four premium colours: Aurora Green, Senna Grey, Lake Blue, and Sand Beige. The highlights of the front-end view, side profile, and rear look are listed below.
