The EV2 from Kia Motors is all set to debut at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, to be positioned as the most affordable and smallest EV. The pricing for all trims are made public before the launch; the on-the-road price is £27,995, £28,495, £32,745 and £36,345 for Air, First Edition, GT-Line and GT-Line S, respectively.
Battery, Range & Charging
The Kia EV2 comes with two battery packs, which are 42.2 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) for Air and 61 kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) for the First Edition, GT-Line and GT-Line S. The one with a standard battery pack gives a range of 317 km (197 miles), and the larger battery variant runs up to 448 km (278 miles).
The electrical architecture is 400-volt featuring a DC charging capacity up to 125 kWh. The 10-80% charging time is 29 minutes and 30 minutes for the 42.2 kWh and 61 kWh batteries, respectively. Also supports the AC charger up to 11 kWh, which takes 5 hours 20 minutes for standard and 7 hours 15 minutes for a large battery pack.
Powertrain & Performance
The Kia EV2 comes equipped with a single motor, which is mounted with rear wheels. It has RWD drivetrain and single-speed automatic transmission. One with the 42.2 kWh battery generates the power of 144 bhp, the power output for the 61 kWh battery is 133 bhp, but the torque of 350 Nm for both.
The acceleration timing of 0-100 km/h is 8.7 seconds and 9.5 seconds for standard range and long range trim, respectively. The top speed with both battery packs is 161 km/h (100 mph).
Interior & Features
The Kia EV2’s interior is quite futuristic and stylish and features sliding and reclining rear seats with heating and ventilation. It gets dual-colour ambient lighting and features modern ‘lounge-like’ interior design.

It has three screen setup, which includes 12.3-inch driver display, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and 5.3-inch climate screen. For connectivity, it gets Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Kia ccNC infotainment system, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and Built-in navigation with EV route planning.
It also features wireless phone charging, multiple USB-C ports and a smart key with push start. For safety, it gets multiple airbags with ADAS, which includes Forward Collision Avoidance 2.0, Lane Keep & Lane Follow Assist, Smart Cruise Control (Stop & Go), Blind Spot Assist, Highway Driving Assist 2.0 and a 360° camera.
Exterior & Design
Up front, the EV2 from Kia Motors features a tiger-nose-inspired closed grille with star-map-style signature LED daylight running lights, an upright stance giving strong road presence, and a sculpted bumper. On the sides, it gets a boxy silhouette, strong shoulder line, short overhangs, and flush door handles.

The Air variants come with 16-inch alloy wheels, the first edition with 18-inch, and the GT-Line and GT-Line S with 19-inch. The rear gets vertical LED tail lamps, a minimalist tailgate design, a clean and uncluttered rear surface and an integrated roof spoiler that make it recognisable even from the back.
The infotainment supports YouTube, Netflix and Disney+, and the premium sound system, i.e., Harman Kardon premium audio, is optional. It is available in five color options, which are Magma Red, Frost Blue, Phantom Black, Wolf Grey and Vanilla Blossom.
Space & Dimensions
The Kia EV2 features a seating capacity of 5 people and is available in a 2-3 layout. The boot space of 362 litres is capable of carrying three big pieces of luggage. The cargo space is expandable up to 1201 litres by folding down the rear seats and a frunk ‘front trunk’ of 15 litres that helps to carry charging cables.
The dimensions in terms of length, width, height and wheelbase is 4,060-4,065 mm, 1,800 mm, 1,575-1,785 mm and 2,565 mm, respectively, giving it a bold road presence and features better legroom, headroom and shoulder room for all occupants. It has a ground clearance of 160 mm, which is good for tackling the speed breakers and urban roads.
The EV2 takes the best features of the Kia EV3 and packs them into a city-friendly package.
