The Model Y L has been showcased by Tesla at the BIMS 2026; it is a six-seater version of the Model Y. With its showcase, the vehicle has now made its official debut in the ASEAN region and will very soon be launched in other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations; they are Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei.

The Tesla Model Y L is quite attractive in appearance, and its interior is not only spacious but also offers a premium feel. It was launched in Thailand at a price of 1.9M Baht; while no details regarding its launch in India have surfaced yet, it is expected to be introduced in the Indian market in early 2027, likely with an ex-showroom price of approximately ₹80 to ₹85 lakh.

Dimensions & Space

Compared to the Tesla Model Y, the Tesla Model Y Long Range is longer, giving it an even bolder road presence. The dimensional measurements are provided below:

Its seating layout consists of three rows with six seats: two seats in the front, two in the middle, and two at the rear. The seats in the second row are captain seats, which are both heated and ventilated, which means they offer comfort tailored to the prevailing weather conditions.

Its maximum boot capacity is 2,539 litres, which is 400 litres more than that of the Tesla Model Y, providing adequate space for large families to carry bulky luggage.

Battery, Range & Charging 

The Tesla Model Y comes equipped with an 82 kWh (NMC lithium-ion) battery, based on the company’s proprietary 400V architecture. It boasts a WLTP range of 681 km, while its real-world range in India is expected to be approximately 530–550 km.

It supports both AC and DC charging, with maximum charging capacities of 250 kW and 11 kW, respectively. With a 250 kW DC charger, it takes a total of 25 to 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, and with an 11 kW AC charger, it takes 8 hours to charge from 0% to 100%.

Power Stain & Performance 

The Tesla Model Y L has 2 motors; that is, it comes with an all-wheel drive option. In which there is an induction motor and a permanent magnet motor, and its transmission is single-speed automatic.

The combined power of both the motors is 462 PS, i.e., 340 kW; its torque is between 580 and 600 Nm. Its acceleration timing, that is, it takes only 5 seconds to reach the speed of 0 to 100 km/h, and its top speed is 201 km/h.

Safety & Security 

The Tesla Model Y comes equipped with 7 airbags, which include front, side, curtain, and centre airbags; they work to ensure that occupants sustain minimal injuries in the event of an accident. For enhanced safety, ADAS has also been incorporated, which includes the following features:
