VinFast, a Vietnamese automaker, is all set to launch the VF MPV 7 in the Indian market on April 15, 2026. The booking has already started from April 2, 2026, with an amount of ₹21,000. The pricing will be revealed with the launch, but it is expected that the ex-showroom price will start from ₹15 lakh for the standard variant and go up to ₹20 lakh for the top trim.
In the Indian market, its main rivals are Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 9S, and BYD eMax 7, it is most likely that the new seven-seater from the VinFast will have tough competition to its rivals. Ex-Showroom Price
The VF MPV 7 is all set to be available in the Indian market with the ex-showroom price ranging from ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh and its rivals: the Carens Clavis EV with ₹17.99 lakh to ₹24.99 lakh, the eMax 7 with ₹26.90 lakh to ₹29.90 lakh and the XEV 9S with ₹19.95 lakh to ₹29.45 lakh. Battery Pack, Range & Charging
The VinFast VF MPV 7 is all set to be available with 60.13 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, which features an NEDC-range of 450 km, and supports up to 80 KW DC charger which can charge 10-70% in 30 minutes. Know about its battery pack, range and charging from the listed points.
- The Kia Carens Clavis EV is available with two LPF battery packs that are 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, whose MIDC range is 404 km and 490 km, respectively. It supports DC chargers of 80-100 kW, which take 39 minutes for 10-80%.
- The BYD eMax 7 is also available with two LPF batteries open, one of them is 55.4 kWh and other is 71.8 kWh. The standard one delivers the NEDC-range of 420 km, and one with large battery packs runs up to 530 km. Its DC charging capacity is 80-115 KW, which took 37 minutes for 10-80% charging.
- The Mahindra XEV 9S comes with three LPF battery packs, which are 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. The ARAI-certified ranges are 521 km, 600 km and 679 km, respectively. It supports a DC charger range from 140 to 180 kW, which charges the vehicle from 10 to 80% in 20 minutes.
If you want a seven-seater EV with a long range and don’t have a problem with the budget, you may go with the XEV 9S that is equipped with the 79 kWh LPF battery, whose real-world range is 550-600 km depending on driving style.
Powertrain & Performance
The VinFast VF MPV 7 comes with a single motor which is equipped with the front-wheel featuring FWD drivetrain. It generates the power of 200 bhp and torque of 200 Nm. - The Kia Carens Clavis EV also gets one motor on the front axle, and it does come with an FWD configuration. Its power output is 135 bhp and 171 bhp with the standard and long-range battery packs, respectively; the torque is 255 Nm. The acceleration time of 0-100 km/h for the 42 kWh battery pack is 9.5 seconds, and the same for the 51.4 kWh battery pack is 8.4 seconds, and the top speed for both is 166 km.
- The BYD eMax also comes with a single-motor AWD drivetrain. It generates the power of 163 bhp and 204 bhp with standard and large battery, respectively, and torque was 310 Nm. The 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh variants accelerate from 0-100 km in 10.1 seconds and 8.6 seconds, respectively, and the top speed is 180 km for both battery packs.
- • The Mahindra XEV 9S also comes with a single motor, but it is mounted with the rear wheels; the setup makes it a RWD drivetrain EV. The power output for the 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack is 231 bhp, 244 bhp and 282 bhp, respectively, and torque is 380 Nm. The acceleration timing for 0-100 km/h is 8.0 seconds, 7.6 seconds and 7.0 seconds for the base, mid and top trims, respectively, and the top speed is 200 km/h.
