Wuling is a Chinese automobile brand that offers an ultra-compact electric vehicle in China, the 2026 model of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. It is launched in four variants; the original version of this EV debuted in 2020 and stands as China’s best-selling car. It is closely linked to the Wuling Air EV, which was subsequently rebadged as the MG Comet EV and is available for sale in India.

The 2026 Wuling Hongguang Mini EV has been launched in four variants: 205 km Advanced, 301 km Advanced, 205 km Premium, and 301 km Premium. Their prices in Chinese yuan are 44,800, 49,800, 49,800, and 54,800, respectively; in Indian rupees, these amounts to 6.14 lakh, 6.82 lakh, 6.82 lakh, and 7.51 lakh.

What’s new in the 2026 Wuling Hongguang Mini EV?

The 2026 model of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV arrives with a fifth-generation update, featuring a fresh exterior design, enhanced practicality, an improved interior and technology, a better battery and range, more power and performance, fast-charging upgrades, more smart and safety features, and a long wheelbase.

Fresh Exterior Design

  • Compared to its predecessor, the exterior is now even more stylish and aerodynamic, featuring circular LED headlights and taillights, a floating roof effect, and a cleaner, more modern aesthetic.
  • It is available in both 2-door and 4-door versions. It is now also offered with new colour options, including green, white, and grey.

Enhanced Practicality

  • To enhance practicality, the 2026 model of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is now available with four doors and a four-seat capacity.
  • Compared to its predecessor, its body size has increased slightly. As a result, access to the rear seats has become even easier, and its suitability for family use has also improved.

Improved Interior & Technology

  • Its interior now offers an even more stylish and spacious feel. A 10.1-inch touchscreen has been added for infotainment, and the UI and connectivity systems have been updated.
  • The dashboard and door panels have become even more modern, and instead of physical buttons, most controls are now managed via the touchscreen.

Better Battery & Range

  • It now comes with 16.2 kWh and 25.1 kWh LFP battery options, offering CLTC ranges of 205 km and 301 km, respectively.
  • With the 25.1 kWh LFP battery, both its driving range and efficiency have improved, allowing families to cover slightly longer distances without any inconvenience.

More Power & Performance

  • It now generates 30 kW (≈41 PS) of power and 85-92 Nm of torque. Acceleration timing has also improved; it now takes just 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h.
  • The top speed has also increased; thanks to a larger battery pack and enhanced motor power, it can now reach a speed of 100 km/h. The drivetrain features rear-wheel drive.

Fast Charging Upgrade

  • The 2026 model features an upgraded fast-charging system; it now takes just 35 minutes to charge the 25.1 kWh battery from 30% to 80%. A 35-minute charge provides a real-world range of approximately 150 km.
  • C charging options remain available, allowing you to charge the vehicle at home; however, much like the previous variant, a full charge will take an entire night.

More Smart & Safety Features

  • The infotainment and connectivity systems have been significantly improved in the 5th-generation model to enhance occupant convenience.
  • In the top-end variant, we can also expect to see a 360° camera (surround view), a dashcam, and advanced driving safety aids, all of which will make the driving experience safer and smoother.

Longer Wheelbase

  • The 2-door model features a wheelbase of 1,965 mm, whereas the newly introduced 4-door variant boasts a wheelbase of 2,190 mm; this extended wheelbase provides enhanced stability, particularly at top speeds.
  • Furthermore, thanks to this increased wheelbase, rear-seat passengers now enjoy improved legroom, ensuring that they experience no discomfort whatsoever, even when seated for hours during a journey.

No details regarding the India launch of the 2026 Wuling Hongguang Mini EV model have been confirmed. The price shared above in Indian rupees is provided for reference purposes only; if it is launched in India, its pricing is expected to be slightly higher compared to its cost in Chinese yuan.
