FAW–Volkswagen has finally started the presale for the Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 on August 28, 2026, for the Chinese market with the starting price of 135,900 yuan (20,225 USD). A total of four variants are announced; they are 540 Pro, 660 Pro, 660 Max LiDAR, and 660 Ultra LiDAR.

The pre-sales are taking place for all of these trims; drivers in China who are interested in buying may show their interest by placing an order via the authorized FAW-Volkswagen dealership.

Is there any pre-sales booking benefit?

The joint venture, FAW-Volkswagen, has officially confirmed drivers who exercise the option of preorder may receive the benefit of up to 20,000 yuan. Choosing any of the first two variants adds heated and ventilated driver and co-passenger seats for 3,000 yuan. For the buyers of the third variant, a 4,000 yuan worth AURA SOUND 7.1.4 immersive audio system with 18 speakers is free. 

Apart from these benefits, for all variants, the Honey Orange interior and the Mountain Green exterior paint, each worth 3,000 yuan, are also absolutely free. The carmaker is also offering trade-in subsidies up to 10,000 yuan. Drives who will place orders prior to the market launch are set to get 3 lifetime benefits, 4 responsibility guarantees, and 3 free services.

Market launch anticipation and probable rivals.

From the carmaker, there’s no word regarding its launch date. We expect to happen anytime in September 2026. The pre-sales price may not remain the same for launch; a little reduction is anticipated. Following the market launch, it is all set to compete with the Tesla Model Y, XPeng G6, BYD Sealion 06 EV, Zeekr 7X, and Deepal S07.

Key specifications and features.

The length, width, and height are 4,811 mm, 1,879 mm, and 1,648 mm, respectively, with the 2,836 mm wheelbase. Sit on 19-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels, and the drag coefficient is 0.245 Cd. Get a permanent magnet synchronous motor with single-speed automatic transmission on the rear axle, whose power output is 170 kW (228 hp). 

Two LFP battery pack options are available: 59.9 kWh and 77.5 kWh, giving a range of 540 km and 660 km under CLTC conditions, respectively. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 7.2 seconds for the variant with the standard battery pack and the same for the large one, 7.4 seconds. The top speed for both battery packs is 186 km/h.

Built on China’s electronic architecture with the MacPherson independent and five-link independent as front and rear suspension, respectively, its wheels are equipped with solid disc brakes. Five seats are available inside the cabin with a boot space of 576 liters that is expandable up to 1,796 liters. There’s also a frunk of 90 liters.

Its cabin gets a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and also a 25.8-inch AR head-up display that projects driving data on the windshield. The infotainment system runs on a 4 nm cockpit chip with 20 TOPS computing power, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay, HiCar, and Carlink.

Other features that enhance the cabin’s premiumness are 18-speaker Aura Sound with Dolby Atmos audio, a wireless phone charging pad, and a panoramic roof. Equipped with the CARIZON intelligent driving assistance system that works with the roof-mounted LiDAR and 420 TOPS Horizon Robotics Journey 6H and features navigation autopilot for city driving and highway cruising.

Five exterior color options are available that are First Snow White, Lark Grey, Distant Mountain Green, Sunset Purple, Galaxy Blue, and Pearl White. Features that make it smart are full-vehicle OTA updates, Sentry Mode, remote vehicle control, intelligent entry, and AI agent capability.
