Volkswagen Anhui, Volkswagen’s electric-vehicle joint venture in China, has officially confirmed the presale date of the Volkswagen ID. UNYX 09, a B-segment intelligent all-electric coupe sedan, is releasing a poster on Weibo. Volkswagen and Xpeng have jointly developed this electric car; it will go on sale in the Chinese market with both single-motor RWD and double-motor AWD drivetrains.

The Volkswagen ID. UNYX 09 presale date is officially confirmed by Volkswagen (Anhui) Automotive Co., Ltd.; the brand is all set to start it on September 24, 2026. The presale is going to take place exactly five months after its first public appearance on April 21, 2026, at Volkswagen Group Media Night during Auto China 2026.
The post released officially on Webio confirms that there will be a physical event whose live streaming will happen across the social media platforms, but there’s no confirmation regarding the timing. Reports suggest that the presale event will start around the evening as per local time.

The key details of the upcoming Volkswagen ID. UNYX 09 electric sedans have already been exposed via the China MIIT filing catalogue release for the vehicle in July 2026. The filing has already revealed that it is a five-seater with a 2-3 layout, whose length, width, and height are 5,081 mm, 1,980 mm, and 1,509 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 3,030 mm.
The all-electric sedan coupe is available with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. The RWD gets a permanent magnet synchronous on the rear axle that delivers 230 kW (313 PS) power, and the AWD also has an induction motor on the front axle, which cranks 140 kW (190 PS). The combined power output is 370 kW (503 PS), and the top speed is 200 km/h, and the acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is still there.
The kerb weight is 2,207 kg and the gross vehicle weight is 2,660 kg for the RWD, respectively, and the same for AWD is 2,307 kg and 2,760 kg; they are 100 kg less. Sit on 21-inch alloy wheels with the 255/45 R21 tires. Multiple battery packs will be available; details regarding the lithium-ion battery pack are still pending; they are provided by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited.
Outside, it has crystal-cut headlights, a full-width front smart light bar, an illuminated Volkswagen badge, a dedicated gold badge, an extended bonnet, sculpted bodywork, and a fastback roofline; and the cabin is equipped with the Volkswagen logo on the steering wheel, roller-type controls on the steering spokes, a digital cockpit, a central infotainment interface, and a light-colored dashboard.

The sale figures for the year 2026 are announced for Volkswagen Anhui. In the last eight months, a total of 17,177 units have been sold. Between January and April, a total of 9,000 units; and 8,177 units between May and August, including 2,303 units in May, 2,423 units in June, 2,149 units in July, and 1,302 units in August.
In August, the sales have increased by 26% on a year-on-year basis with 269 more sales and decreased by 39.4% on a month-on-month basis with 847 fewer sales.
