The Vietnamese automobile maker VinFast will make its entry in the Indian market with the launch of the compact SUV VF 6 and premium mid-size SUV VF 7 on September 4, 2026, having already introduced the seven-seater VF MPV 7 on April 15, 2026. Reports say that they will introduce more EVs soon.
Reportedly, VinFast will launch 5 electric vehicles (EVs) in India in two-three years. The list includes the micro SUV VF 3, compact SUV VF e34, hatchback VF 5, luxury SUV VF 9 and mid-size SUV VF 8. Their Indian launch timeline is yet to be revealed. Let’s have a closer look at the upcoming EVs.
VinFast VF 3
The VF 3 is a three-door (two main and one tailgate) all-electric SUV which may be introduced to the Indian market in the second half of 2026 with an ex-showroom price between ₹9 lakh and ₹11 lakh. It has a seating capacity of 4 people in a layout of 2-2; its boot space is 36 litres that can be extended up to 285 litres for folding rear seats.
The car will come with an 18.64 lithium-ion battery pack, whose NEDC range is 215 km. It gets a single motor on the front axle, whose power output is 43.5 PS and peak torque is 110 Nm. Its drivetrain is FWD, and transmission is single-speed automatic. To accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h, it takes 5.3 seconds and reaches the maximum speed of 100 km/h.
VinFast VF e34
The VF e34 is an all-electric compact crossover, which is also known as Nerio Green in a few markets. Its India launch will happen in 2027. Reports say that it may come with the ex-showroom price starting from ₹12 lakh and going up to ₹25 lakh. It is set to come with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3 whose boot space is 290 litres.
The car gets a motor that is mounted with a front axle featuring a FWD drivetrain. Its transmission is also a single-speed automatic. Its power output and peak torque are 150 PS and 242 Nm torque, respectively, which help it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds. It is set to get a 41.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, whose NEDC range is 318.6 km.
VinFast VF 5
The VF 5 is an all-electric hatchback; its launch in India is most expected by late 2026 with the ex-showroom price of around ₹10 lakh to ₹12 lakh. The car also features a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3, but its boot space is 260 litres but can be expanded up to 960 litres by folding rear seats.
It will also have the single-motor FWD drivetrain and single-speed automatic transmission, but its power output is 136 PS and peak torque is 135 Nm. To accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.9 seconds, and it goes up to 130 km/h. Offered with a battery pack of 37.23 kWh that gives the NEDC range of 326 km.
VinFast VF 9
The VF 9 is a flagship luxury SUV that may be introduced in the Indian market in the first half of 2027. Reportedly, its ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹65 lakh and ₹75 lakh. The car will feature both 6-person and 7-person seating with configurations of 2-2-2 and 2-3-2, respectively. Its boot space is anticipated to be between 212 litres and a frunk of 75 litres.
It comes with two motors, one on each axle. The setup features an AWD configuration, and its transmission is single-speed automatic. The combined power output is 408 PS, and peak torque is 620 Nm. Its acceleration is 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 200 km/h. The offered battery pack is a 123 kWh LFP whose NEDC range is 531 km.
VinFast VF 8
The VF 8 is a mid-size electric SUV whose launch is expected somewhere in 2027. The price of the car is anticipated to be between ₹40 lakh and ₹55 lakh. It is a five-seater with a layout of 2 and 3, and cargo space is 376 litres. Its length is 4,750 mm, width is 1,934 mm, height is 1,667 mm, wheelbase is 2,950 mm, and ground clearance is 175 mm.
It also comes with a dual-motor AWD configuration, and its transmission is single-speed automatic. The motor generates the power of 353.5 PS and 408 PS and torque of 500 Nm and 620 Nm. The acceleration timing for 0-100 km/h is 5.5 to 5.9 seconds, and top speed goes up to 200 km/h. It gets a battery of 87.7 kWh, whose NEDC-range is 425 km to 471 km.
