The electric version of the Toyota Hilux was showcased at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show as the Toyota Hilux Travo-e. It was the first time the public had the opportunity to see it up close; it is set to be launched first in Thailand, after which it will be introduced to the European market.

As for charging, a 125 kW DC charger can charge the EV from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, while an 11 kW AC charger takes 6–7 hours to achieve a full charge.
The top speed of Toyota Hilux Travo-e is 140 km/h, which is quite good with electric power in the segment; and acceleration timing is also decent, it reach the speed of 0 to 100 km/h just in 9 seconds.
Design, Suspension & Chassis
The front design of the Toyota Hilux Travo-e is SUV-inspired, featuring sharp and angular styling. The front fascia is quite aggressive, complemented by modern lighting. Viewed from the side, it appears boxy and muscular, while the rear design remains consistent with the traditional Hilux aesthetic.
Its front fascia features a double-wishbone setup, which provides superior ride comfort and steering control, as well as enhanced stability on rough roads. As for the rear suspension, it utilises a De-Dion system, rather than a solid axle, which offers greater comfort compared to traditional setups.
The chassis is based on a ladder-frame structure, designed for strength, durability, and heavy-duty use. Basically, it provides superior off-road capability while also enhancing ride stability.
Interior & Features
The cabin of the Toyota Hilux Travo-e is inspired by the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, which is quite rugged and utility-focused. Its layout is highly functional, featuring controls that are easy to reach.
It is set to feature amenities such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, and connected car features accessible via an app; it will also include physical buttons for A/C controls and off-road modes, ensuring they can be easily utilized during off-road driving.
For comfort and convenience, it features ergonomic seats with Softex upholstery, multiple storage spaces and cubbies, a dashboard storage box on the passenger side, a wireless charging pad, and USB ports.
It is expected to feature 7 airbags, which help prevent mishaps during an accident; additionally, it includes advanced safety features such as a blind spot monitor, safe exit assist, driver monitoring camera, emergency driving stop system, and proactive driving assist.
Dimension & Space
The Toyota Hilux Travo-e, in terms of length, width and height, is 5,320 mm, 1,855 mm and 1,800 mm, respectively, giving a dominating look as well as making its road presence tough.
The wheelbase is 3,085 mm, resulting in providing better stability at high speeds, and a ground clearance of 215 mm helps it to tackle speed breakers easily.
It comes with a seating capacity of five people with good legroom and headroom with a spacious cabin to ensure that occupants stay comfortable during the journey.
