The GV60 Magma, a high-performance all-electric crossover SUV, is the first production model from Genesis under the Magma lineup, the brand’s high-performance division. Its US debut happened with its showcase at the New York Auto Show 2026.
It is positioned as a road-going version of a racing concept, whose launch in the United States is expected in summer 2026 with pricing between $74,000 and $80,000. It will compete with the Cadillac Optiq-V, Porsche Macan Electric and Tesla Model Y Performance.
Interior & Features
The cabin features a mix of luxury and sportiness; its orange theme reflects its magma signature, and the use of Nappa leather for seats keeps you comfortable and stable in fast driving. Its steering gets a boost button that unlocks the full power for short bursts.
Two large digital screens are available, one for infotainment and the other for drive display. The ambient lighting gives a premium feel and futuristic vibes. It gets Virtual Gear Shift features that feel like changing gear in an ICE vehicle, and Drift Mode and Launch Control help in sporty driving and quick acceleration.
Exterior & Design
Up front, it gets an aggressive front bumper that absorbs air and improves cooling; triple-hole cooling vents help with airflow; canards and a front lip increase front-end stability; and dual-line LED headlights show the brand’s signature design element.
The large rear wing spoiler provides downforce for high-speed stability; the rear diffuser is quite sporty, further enhancing its aerodynamics and aggressive look; and the rear bumper with sharp touches improves the air flow balance.
It runs on 21-inch forged alloy wheels that are lightweight and have better performance grip, wider fenders at the sides and enhanced aggressive stance and cornering ability. Instead of chrome, it features gloss black accents that result in giving a sportier look.
Dimensions & Space
The dimensions in terms of length are 4635 mm, which provides better road presence and slightly more cabin space; a width of 1940 mm, which improves stability and cornering; a lower height of 1560 mm, which ensures better performance handling; and a long wheelbase of 2900 mm, which gives more legroom and smoother ride quality.
The ground clearance is 160 mm, enough to tackle potholes and speed breakers. It features a seating capacity of 5 people with a standard layout of two and three, and boot space is 430 litres that is capable of easily carrying four big pieces of luggage, and rear seats are foldable, which significantly increases the cargo.
Powertrain & Performance
It is equipped with two motors, one with front wheels and the other with rear wheels. The setup features an all-wheel drive drivetrain, and the transmission is single-speed automatic. The power output is 641 hp and torque is 583 Nm; the acceleration timing is 3.4 seconds and top speed is 264 km/h.
Battery, Range & Charging
It comes with an 84 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives a claimed range of 346 km on a full charge; the electrical architecture is based on 800 volts, and it supports up to a 350 kW DC charger, which can charge it from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, and an AC charging time of a whole night for a full charge.
Safety & Security
It gets 10 airbags, which include front, side, curtain, driver knee, and centre airbags. They play a very crucial role in saving the lives of occupants in the event of an accident. It also gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, which includes following features:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist: It detects vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists and applies brakes automatically.
- Lane Keeping Assist: It ensures that the vehicle remains in the lane.
- Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance: It warns and helps to avoid side collision.
- Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: It detects vehicles at the time of reversing.
Other safety and security features are the 360° Surround View Camera, Direct Grip Detection System, Driver Attention Warning, Highway Driving Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
