Tata Motors To Launch 5 EV Models In 2026-27: Affordable To Luxury EVs Planned

Tata Motors is set to launch five EV models for the Indian market in 2026-2027. Of these five models, four will be entirely new additions to the lineup; two will be facelifts.

Over the past few years, we have witnessed a rapid surge in the adoption of EVs in India. Keeping the momentum in mind, Tata Motors is preparing to introduce five new EV models.

The five new EV models that Tata Motors is slated to launch in the next few months include the Sierra EV, Safari EV, Avinya EV, the Tiago EV Facelift, and the Punch EV.

Tata Sierra EV

The Sierra EV is expected in May 2026 and is set to launch in multiple variants. Its ex-showroom price is expected to range between ₹15 lakh and ₹25 lakh. It will be based on the Acti.ev+ platform and will be introduced with two battery pack options: a standard range and a long range.

In the Indian market, it is likely to be available with both powertrain options: a single-motor front-wheel drive and a dual-motor all-wheel drive. Its key features are set to include a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, a 360° camera, ventilated seats, and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

Tata Safari EV

The Safari EV is expected to hit the Indian market in late 2026. Its ex-showroom price is expected to start at ₹26 lakh and go up to ₹32 lakh for the top-end variant. It will be available in a 6-person seating layout in 2-2-2 and a 7-person seating layout in 2-3-2 configuration.

It is expected to come with two battery packs, 65 kWh and 75 kWh. According to reports, equipped with a large battery pack, it is expected to offer a real-world range of 500 km. The cabin’s dashboard layout is going to be quite minimalist, yet it will offer a premium feel.

Tata Avinya EV

The Avinya EV is set to be a luxury SUV based on JLR’s EMA platform. Its launch is expected in early 2027. It is anticipated to be between ₹30 and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom). It could be launched with an 85 kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 720 km.

It will feature two motors, which will be mounted on both axles. Its drivetrain will feature AWD, and the transmission will be a single-speed automatic. Its electrical architecture will be 800 volts, meaning it will support a 250 kW DC charger providing a 20% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.

Tata Tiago EV Facelift

The Tiago EV Facelift will be launched very soon by Tata Motors. There will be no changes to its powertrain; there will only be some cosmetic updates. The changes being introduced aim to make its front fascia look more modern and aerodynamic.

In India, its ex-showroom price is expected to start at ₹8 lakh and go up to over ₹11 lakh. It will feature an updated bumper and a new grille, which will give it a slightly more commanding stance. The headlights and tail lamps are also expected to receive upgrades.

Tata Punch EV Facelift

The launch of the Punch EV facelift is expected in the third quarter of 2026. Its ex-showroom price is projected to range between ₹10 lakh and ₹14 lakh. It will come with the existing battery options, meaning there will be no changes to its powertrain.

Its design is going to be significantly better than before. It is set to feature an upgraded infotainment system with wireless connectivity and a premium audio system. The top-end variant is certain to include Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats, and rear heated seats.
