Volkswagen’s ID. UNYX 08 Launch Date Confirmed: Up to 370 kW Power and 4-Second Sprint

Volkswagen is all set to launch an ID. UNYX 08, an all-electric SUV, in China for the domestic market on April 16, 2026, following the pre-sale, starting on March 26, 2026. VW has co-developed it with XPENG; the launch will reveal all the undisclosed details, including trim-wise pricing.

The pre-sale price ranges from 239,900 to 299,900 in Chinese yuan, which translates to 29 lakh to 36 lakh in Indian rupees. The actual price will be revealed with the launch, which slightly may be a little less or more. In the Chinese market, its rivals are the Avatr 07, Zeekr 7X and Xiaomi YU7 GT

Comes With Panoramic Smart Sunroof

The ID. UNYX 08 features a wraparound cockpit design that improves driver focus and ergonomics. The cabin gets two 15-inch screens and a 10.25-inch instrument display, which shows navigation, ADAS visuals, media, and vehicle data clearly. It includes high-quality materials inside the cabin, which give a soft-touch and premium feel.

The 1.74 m² panoramic sunroof enhances cabin brightness as well as reduces heat when it is needed. It gets a 20-speaker premium audio system, which gives an immersive sound experience, and a foldable tray table at the rear, making working, eating, or device usage easy and convenient. The front seat features a heating, ventilation and massage system.

It features dual wireless charging pads and an AI voice assistant that controls the AC, navigation, and music with natural speech. The cabin also gets multiple storage areas with USB ports to enhance practicality. For safety it gets Level 2++ ADAS that includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, navigation-guided driving and other smart features.

Features Floating Roof Design 

The ID. UNYX 08 exterior is inspired by the ID. EVO concept and the ID. Code design language, which gives it futuristic and tech-focused styling. The front grill is closed for electric vehicle styling that improves aerodynamics and increases the range and features slim and sharp LED headlights, which gives an aggressive look and better night visibility.

On the sides, it gets a coupe-like roofline featuring a sporty look. The door handles are flush types that give a cleaner and premium look. The floating roof design adds modern as well as premium styling and runs on large 21-22 inch alloy wheels that improve road presence and grip and handling.

The full-width LED tail lights are added to the back, which improves night visibility and gives modern electric vehicle identity. The rear gets an illuminated VW logo in red that features a premium and futuristic feel. The spoiler mounted at the roof gives stability on high-speed clean tailgates, ensuring modern aesthetics.

Gets 766 Litres of Cargo Space 

The ID. UNYX 08 is 3,030 mm long, and it is good as it provides more cabin space. The width is 1954 mm to make the rear seating comfortable for three adults. The height of 1688 mm is low but gives better efficiency. The distance between front and rear wheels is 3,030 mm, quite long, giving huge rear legroom and better ride comfort.

The ground clearance is yet to be made public but is more likely to be around 170-180 mm, which is quite good to tackle speed breakers and potholes. It features a seating capacity of 5 people with a layout of 2-3, and the cargo space is 766 litres and can easily carry five pieces of luggage, which is expandable up to 1845 litres by folding the rear seats. 

Gives A 730 KM CLTC range 

The ID. UNYX 08 is available with two battery packs, which are 82.36 kWh and 95.04 kWh. The one with the standard battery pack gets a one-motor featuring a rear-wheel drive configuration, and the other gets a double-motor and features a drivetrain of all-wheel drive. The power output for the 82.36 kWh and 95.04 kWh battery pack is 230 kW and 370 KW, respectively.

The acceleration timing for 0-100 km/h for the standard battery pack is 6.8 seconds, but the same for the large battery pack is only 4 seconds. On full charge, the 82.36 kWh and 95.04 kWh battery packs give the CLTC range of 630 km and 730 km, respectively. The electrical architecture is 800-volt, and it supports up to a 315 kW DC charger, which charges from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes.
