MG G50 Unveiled At 2026 Manila International Auto Show: Powerful 299 PS Hybrid MPV Revealed

MG Motors showcased the G50 plug-in hybrid vehicle at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show. With its unveiling, the PHEV has officially debuted in the Philippines. It is available in a single trim that costs 1,398,888 Philippine pesos, which translates to 21.67 lakh Indian rupees.

It’s a seven-seater MPV, which is available in a seating layout of 2-3-2. The length is 4,825 mm, the width is 1,825 mm, the height is 1,800 mm, the wheelbase is 2,800 mm and the ground clearance is 223 mm. The boot space stands at 406 litres; the third row is foldable, which can increase the cargo capacity up to 1,162 litres. 

The booking has already started in the Philippines with the debut; one can get a reserve unit with just a payment of 1,000 Philippine pesos. Early buyers are set to get a 7 kWh AC charger for free and get a 10,000 Philippine peso discount. In the Philippines market, its main rival is the Toyota Innova.

Runs On 17-Inch Alloy Wheels 

Up front, the MG G50 PHEV gets a bold and modern grill with the brand’s logo, which gives the vehicle a strong identity. The Sharp LED projector headlights are added to ensure better visibility during the nighttime and also feature LED daytime running lights that create a distinctive light signature. 

On the sides, it has a long wheelbase and large body, which gives better cabin space and gives a comfortable seating position for all occupants. Also features a large window which makes the cabin feel airy, and there’s subtle character lines on doors which add style. It runs on 17-inch alloy wheels, which further improves aerodynamics. 

At the back, sleek LED taillamps are available that provide better visibility and also improve its modern look. The tailgate features a wide and clean design that makes the loading of luggage convenient. The rear features a minimalist style but looks modern even from the back, and its wide stance gives it a planted look.

Gets Ambient Lighting 

The MG G50 comes with a two-digit screen setup, each measuring 12.3 inches. The first one acts as a digital instrument cluster that shows driving data, and the other is an infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and also features a premium sound system with multiple speakers.

The comfort and convenience: it gets wireless phone charging, multiple USB ports, a push-button start and an electronic gear selector, and ambient lighting, which enhances cabin mood. The second-row seats are captain’s chairs that give luxury-like comfort, and the front seats are power adjustable, which helps in finding the perfect driving position.

The cabin’s front gets automatic climate control to maintain the temperature automatically, and the rear gets AC vents with fan control to ensure that all occupants feel comfortable during the hot weather. There’s also a panoramic sunroof which makes the cabin feel more airy and spacious. 

Generates Power Up To 299 PS

The MG G50 gets a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with a permanent magnet synchronous motor tyre mounted with the front wheel. The setup features a front-wheel drive drivetrain, and the transmission is single-speed automatic. The engine works with a generator to power the motor, which runs the wheels.

The engine power output and torque are 95 PS and 130 Nm, respectively, but the motor generates the power of 218 PS and torque of 280 Nm. The combined power output is 299 PS. It gets an 18.65 kWh LPF battery, which gives it the only electric range of 95 km. It supports Type 2 AC up to 6.6 kW, which charges the vehicle from 0-100% in 2.8 hours.

It features a fuel tank of 60 litres, and with a fuel efficiency of 21.7 km/l, it gives a range of over 1300 km in case of a full tank. The combined range is around 1400 km. The acceleration timing for 0-100 km ranges from 6.5 seconds to 7.5 seconds, and top speed goes up to 180 km/h.
