Honda Super-ONE Pre-sale Starts April 16: Compact EV with Boost Mode & 700L Cargo

Honda showcased the Super-ONE, a compact all-electric car, at the Automobile Council 2026 for the Japanese market. The pre-sale is all set to start from April 16, 2026, at the dealership, and launch is scheduled for May 2026. In Japan, its price is expected to be between ¥3.0 million and ¥5.2 million, whose main rivals will be the Nissan Sakura and BYD Racco. 

700 Litres Boot Space 

The Super-ONE comes with the seating capacity of 4 people with a 2-2 layout, and four adults can travel with it easily. It features a boot space of 220 litres, ideal for carrying 2-3 small pieces of luggage. The rear seats are good and foldable, which increases the cargo to 700 litres and makes it capable of carrying 5 big pieces of luggage.

The dimensions of a length of 3,589 mm give good cabin space, a width of 1,573 mm features ensure better shoulders for each occupant, and a height of 1,573 mm gives ample headroom. The wheelbase is 2,520 mm of length in the segment and also improves the efficiency, and ground clearance is 140 mm.

Virtual 7-Speed Transmission 

The Super-ONE features a BOOST mode that increases the power output quickly, which delivers strong acceleration and sharper response. To give the manual gear shifting feel it features virtual seven-speed transmission and steering-mounted paddle shifters, and also generates artificial engine sound inside the cabin for driving engagement.

The cabin is equipped with a touch screen infotainment system, which supports navigation, smartphone connectivity, voice control and OTA (over-the-air) updates; and also gets a driver display that shows range, power usage and driving mode. It also features an 8-speaker BOSE sound setup and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

It is set to get multiple airbags, which is one of the key safety features that saves life by ensuring no fatal injury during the collision. To enhance the driving experience, it comes equipped with the ADAS Suite that includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision mitigation braking and road departure mitigation.

Circular LED Headlights 

The Super-ONE is based on a fun-to-drive compact EV and is available in five colour options, including a Boost Violet Pearl that is inspired by blue jet lightning. To ensure better aerodynamics, it gets vertical air ducts at both ends that improve airflow around wheels and also reduce drag and lift. 

Up front, it gets a closed-off grille to give it an EV styling. The LED headlamps are circular in shape, featuring a retro-modern look. On the back, there’s a slim rectangular tail lamp, a large rear windscreen, and a subtle roof spoiler that makes its rear profile sporty.

It features 15-inch double-tone alloy wheels with a modern design; they are quite aerodynamic and further improve its efficiency. It has a tall-boy hatchback silhouette, an upright roofline that improves visibility, and its five-door layout ensures better practicality for the occupants.

70 KW Power Output 

The Super-ONE is equipped with a motor, which is mounted on the front axle. The setup features a FWD drivetrain, and the actual transmission is single-speed automatic. The power output is 47 kW in normal mode, and 70 KW in BOOST mode, and generates the maximum torque of 162 Nm. 

It is available with a 29.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, whose CLTC-range is 274 km. The acceleration timing for 0-100 km/h is estimated to be around 10 seconds, and top speed is expected to be around 150 km/h. 

It supports a 50 KW DC charger, which has a maximum charging capacity. It can charge the vehicle from 10-80% in 30 minutes. It also supports AC charger up to 11 kW, which takes 4-5 hours for full charge.
