Chery Automobile, a Chinese automaker, has patented the Lepas L6 EV in India. With its patent, it is now confirmed that it will also be introduced in the Indian market under the banner of JSW Motors. It made its global debut in March 2026 at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show.
It’s a compact SUV with a seating capacity of 5 people with a layout of 2 and 3. The length is 4,570 mm, the width is 1,852 mm, the height is 1,683 mm and the wheelbase is 2,700 mm. The measurement gives ideal seating capacity for 5 adults with ample legroom and headroom.
In India, the Lepas L6 EV is likely to be introduced in 2027 whose ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹20 lakh and ₹25 lakh. In the Indian market, it will compete with Tata Harrier EV, MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, Mahindra BE 6 and VinFast VF 6.
Flash-Type Door Handles
The Lepas L6 EV gets a closed-off grille to give it a modern electric vehicle styling that also improves its aerodynamics. It has leopard-eye headlights that give its predator-like front fascia. The daylight running lights in the front are L-shaped, and it makes the front profile not only modern but also sharp.

On the sides, we get a smooth silhouette featuring a sleek and aerodynamic profile with a curved roofline. The doors feature flush-type handles that not only improve aerodynamics but also give a modern look. It gets 19-inch alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design, providing a planted and athletic stance.
The full-width LED taillight in the back enhances the premium and wide look. Its roof spoilers are quite aerodynamic, which helps with the airflow. It features a sporty rear diffuser that gives it a performance-orientated and aggressive stance. There’s a tailgate with minimal design for convenience.
Front Ventilated Seats
The Lepas L6 EV gets a large-screen infotainment system in 2K and a digital instrument cluster that shows all driving data with wireless connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 and a premium sound system. It also includes a PM0.3 air filtration voice assistant with AI commands for convenience.

The seats are made up of nappa leather for a premium feel that makes the journey more comfortable compared to traditional fabric seats. It is more that the front seats will be powered as well as ventilated and heated to ensure comfort accordingly. Also includes smart features such as automatic climate control and smartphone key access.
The cabin gets a panoramic sunroof for an airy feel, a wireless charging pad for phone charging with ease, and multi-colour ambient lighting for premiumness. It also has safety features including multiple airbags, blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking.
7.9-Second Acceleration
In Thailand, it was introduced with a single PMS motor that is bound with the front axle, i.e., it features a front-wheel drive drivetrain. Its transmission is single-speed automatic, which is good for city driving and small highway cruising. It has a 67.08 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery whose NEDC range is 510 km.
The power output is 242 hp, and peak torque is 275 Nm. It features three drive modes, which are comfort, standard, and sport. The acceleration timing 0-100 km/h is 7.9 seconds, and top speed is yet to be disclosed, although it is expected to be around 180 km/h.
It supports DC chargers up to 102 kW. With the maximum charging power, it takes only 20 minutes for a 20-80% charge. It comes with an AC charger of 7 kW for home charging convenience, which takes 7-8 hours for a full charge with maximum output.
