The American automaker Tesla has launched the Model Y L, an all-electric crossover SUV, in India with an ex-showroom price of ₹61,99,000. It sits between the Standard Model Y RWD and the Model Y Long Range RWD. It is available for sale with an on-road price of ₹6,316,020 in New Delhi, which can be booked via the company website. The delivery is expected in May 2026.
3040 mm Long Wheelbase
The Model Y L’s length is 4,969 mm, width is 2,129 mm (1,982 mm when the mirrors are folded) and height is 1,668 mm, giving a bold road presence. Its wheelbase is 3,040 mm, which gives ample legroom for all the occupants. The ground clearance is 169 mm.
It features a seating capacity of 6 people in a layout of 2-2-2. The second-row seats are the caption type that features a luxury seating position. All rear seats are foldable, which can increase the boot space up to 2,539 litres. The kerb weight is 2,088 kg, and the wheel size is 19 inches.

681 km WLTP Range
The Model Y L comes with two PMS motors, which are equipped with front and rear axles, featuring an all-wheel drive configuration, and the transmission is single-speed automatic, the same as the standard variant. The battery pack is yet to be revealed but is likely to be 82 kWh, although it is confirmed that the electric car gives a WLTP range of 681 km.
It supports fast charging up to 250 kWh, which adds the WLTP range of 288 km with just 15 minutes’ charge. The acceleration timing for 0-100 km/h is 5 seconds, but the top speed isn’t yet revealed; it’s more likely to go up to 200 km/h. They will soon reveal the motors’ power output and peak torque, but they are anticipated to be around 500 hp and 600 Nm, respectively.

16-Inch Touchscreen
The Model Y L has a spacious and luxurious cabin; it gets a 16-inch touchscreen for the first row, which acts as a control panel and drive settings, and an 8-inch one for the second row, which controls climate and media. It has a full-length glass roof that makes the cabin airy and spacious and also improves the premium feel.
To enhance the infotainment system, it gets a 19-speaker sound system with a subwoofer that makes the audio experience inside the cabin quite immersive. For phone charging, the front row gets a wireless charging pad, and USB ports are available in all three rows.
Rear AC Vents
The front seats are electronically adjustable and also feature heating functions. The rear also gets heating seating to keep the occupants warm during the winter. For cooling, it gets hidden AC vents. Another notable feature is OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and acoustic glass for a quiet cabin experience.
For the safety of occupants, it has a strong body with impact-absorbing zones and multiple airbags across all three rows. It also includes some active safety features, which include Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Avoidance and Blind Spot Monitoring.
Flush-Type Door Handles
At the front-end, it features a closed-off grill that improves aerodynamics to provide better efficiency. The front’s sleek LED headlamps, which give a futuristic look. On the sides, it gets a coupe-like sloping roofline that gives a sporty crossover feel. The door handles are flush-type for better aerodynamics and a premium look, and alloy wheels are also aero-optimised for better efficiency.
