Tata Aeris EV Launch Soon – Design, Dimensions, Features and Powertrain Details

Tata Aeris EV is an upcoming sub-4-metre all-electric sedan from Tata. Cars, which will replace the existing Tata Tigor EV. Things regarding the launch of this electric car are still uncertain. Reports suggest that the Tata Aeris EV will go on sale on September 25, 2026, although the official confirmation regarding the same is still pending.

The successor of the Tata Tigor EV, Tata Aeris EV, will go on sale with a similar design that we get to see on the existing Tata Tigor EV. They already have patented the design for this upcoming electric car. Reports confirm that the dimensions of the Tata Aeris EV will be similar to the predecessor.

Exterior design and dimensions.

The Tata Aeris EV patent images show that upfront, it will have slim horizontal-shape LED headlights that will also integrate daylight running light. The front-end lighting setup will be connected with the black trim with the Tata logo at the centre. The air intakes in a horizontal shape are certain below the nameplate.

Other details that we are going to see on its exterior are eight-spoke alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, conventional door handles, and an A-pillar-mounted outside rear view mirror with integrated slim LED blinkers on the sides; and the rear will have a roof-integrated windscreen and a full-width LED taillight with the centre Tata logo.

The dimensions in terms of length, width, and height will be 3,993 mm, 1,677 mm, and 1,532 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 2,450 mm and ground clearance of 172 mm. Reports confirm that it will be equipped with a 16-inch wheel wearing 175/65 tyres. The turning radius of 5.1 metres is certain. As a five-seater, it will have 316 litres of boot space.

Interior features and technology.

The cabin of the Tata Aeris EV will have many smart features and technology enhancing comfort and convenience for occupants. It will borrow many things from the outgoing Tata Tigor EV. A large touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard with wireless smartphone connectivity and a fully digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel is most likely.

The air conditioning vents will be available in both rows with automatic climate control to maintain the cabin temperature, enhancing seating comfort. Other features that are highly expected are keyless entry, push-button start, a height-adjustable driver seat, a USB phone charging port, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera. For safety, it will have up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and TPMS. 

Powertrain and other details.

Things regarding the powertrain of the Tata Aeris EV are uncertain; reports suggest it will be available with two different lithium-ion battery packs, naming the variants as ‘Standard Range’ and ‘Long Range’. It is confirmed that this upcoming electric car will go on sale with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain, getting a permanent magnet synchronous motor with the single-speed automatic transmission.

The existing powertrain of the Tata Tigor EV may be retained, which has a PMSM with single-speed automatic transmission under the hood; it gets power from a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and delivers 55 kW and 170 Nm. After each full charge, it gives a 315 km range on MIDC condition, takes 5.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph, and the top speed is 120 kmph.
