New Tata Tigor EV Facelift Launch Nears: All Expected Changes Explained

In the previous report we talked about the launch of the Tata Tiago EV facelift in the Indian market by August 2026; now reports are suggesting that the launch is likely to happen by the end of this month, although the confirmation from Tata Motors is still pending. In the electric vehicle line of the Indian car maker, two facelifts have been introduced in the year 2026; the upcoming one is going to be the third one.

On February 20, 2026, they launched the Punch EV facelift, and then May 28, 2026, marked the debut of the Tiago EV facelift. The date for the third one, the Tigor EV facelift, is still undisclosed but highly likely in late 2026. Besides the market launch of two facelifts in the pure-electric family, a new nameplate, Sierra EV, is also added on June 30, 2026.

The facelift of the Tigor EV is set to be known as the 2026 model year, coming with many cosmetic changes and feature upgrades. The carmaker has already patented the Tigor ICE facelift, which is already on the Internet. The same design for the EV counterpart is anticipated because they did the same with the Tiago EV facelift.

The patent image suggests that it will get totally new front-end headlights integrating daylight running lights and main headlamps, which seem to be connected with the black trims at the center. On the sides, it expected to get new eight-spoke steering wheels with pronounced wheel arches and the ORVMs with slim LED blinkers, door handles, and pillars to remain the same as earlier.

A few changes at the back are also anticipated; the patent image shows a large full-width padding on the tailgate in through-type styling. We are anticipating it to be a connected LED taillight to enhance the car’s visibility from the back at night. The bumper will also be revised, enhancing the rear view; it may have a vertical reflector on the sides and a horizontal reversing light in the center.

As the 2026 Tigor EV is a facelift, no changes in size are expected. The existing one is 3,993 mm longer, 1,677 mm wider, and 1,532 mm taller, and its wheelbase is 2,450 mm and ground clearance is 172 mm. As a 54-door, five-seater sub-4-meter pure-electric sedan, it has a boot space of 316 liters behind the second row and a 5.1-meter turning radius.

No changes in the suspension are certain; the front and rear are set to continue with an independent MacPherson strut with a coil spring and a twist beam with a coil spring, respectively. Even braking will remain the same; the front wheels will have a solid disc, and the rear will have a drum. Electric power-assisted rack-and-pinion will also be retained.

The upcoming Tigor EV facelift all-electric sedan may come with Tata’s new 6-in-1 integrated electric drive unit, which makes its debut with the Punch EV facelift. Basically, it integrates six different components, which are electric motor, reduction gear, inverter, DC-DC converter, power distribution unit, and on-board charger.

The powertrain is highly anticipated to remain the same; they may offer the same 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh lithium-ion battery packs. Earlier, we reported that of the two, the standard may be disclosed, and the larger one will be considered the standard with a new 36 kWh unit as the large one, but recent reports suggest that it is very unlikely that they will discontinue any of the battery packs and introduce a new one.

With the existing standard and large battery pack, it will give a range of 250 km and 315 km, respectively, under ARAI-certified conditions. On the front axle, it is set to get a permanent magnet synchronous with a single-speed automatic transmission, which delivers the power of 45 kW and 55 kW with a 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh LFP battery pack, respectively, and continue offering City and Sport driving modes.
