The German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen has launched the updated ID. UNYX 06 (Yu Zhong 06) for the Chinese market on May 23, 2026, with the Volkswagen ID. Unyx 07’ under the banner of Volkswagen Anhui, a joint venture between Chinese carmaker JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Co.) Motors and Volkswagen, comes in two variants that are Pure and Pure PS.
The former one is available with the promotional price of 134,900 yuan (19,900 USD) and the latter with 144,900 yuan (21,400 USD) until June 1, 2026. Once the offer ends, the price for both variants will increase by 15,000 yuan, equivalent to 22,100 USD. Its main competitors in China are the XPeng G6, BYD Song L, and Zeekr X.
As a compact electric crossover SUV, it features a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3. The interior is equipped with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster before the driver seat, a 15-inch 2K HD central touchscreen at the center of the dashboard, and a 27-inch augmented reality head-up display that projects driving details on the windshield; the entire cockpit is powered by a MediaTek MT8676 chip and runs on the VW OS operating system.
Also comes with the AI-based voice assistant using the Zhipu Qingyan large language model, which does things with natural voice commands. To enhance the information experience, it gets a 9-speaker audio system, but the UNYX SOUND premium system with 12 Hi-Fi speakers is also available as an option. For connectivity, it also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other features highlights are Dual-zone climate control, Double-glazed acoustic windows multi-color Ambient lighting, Panoramic sunroof with sunshade, Wireless charging pad, cup holders, Keyless entry and start, Built-in dashcam, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) that help in running the external electronics, it proved to be helpful when outing or camping.
Dimensionally, it measures 4,663 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,617 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,766 mm and ground clearance is 180 mm, good enough to pass the road breaker and potholes easily. Upfront, it gets full-width LED daylight running lights which end with headlamps housings giving a modern touch, sculpted bumper with sporty air intake, and Volkswagen logo at the hood.
In profile, it sit large and modern alloy wheels, get windshield trims and body-coloured outside rear view mirrors with indicators, and flush-type door handles reduce drag and improve efficiency with better aerodynamics; and the rear get connectivity LED taillights with illuminated Volkswagen logo at the centre, sport bumper with black cladding, and and vertical market light.
Equipped with an advanced driving assistant system that works with the hardwares 6 HD cameras, Millimeter-wave radar and 12 ultrasonic sensors, and features Highway Navigation on Autopilot, Adaptive cruise control, Lane centering assist, Automatic lane change, Memory parking assist, and 360-degree camera system.
A permanent magnet synchronous motor is mounted with a rear axle featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain, its transmission is single-speed automatic. The maximum power output is 170 kW and peak torque is 310 Nm. Its 0 to 100 kmph acceleration timing is 7 seconds and top speed goes upto 160 kmph.
Equipped with a 60 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack, provided by Gotion High-tech, whose CLTC-range is 528 kilometres. Built on electrical architecture of 800 volt, supports DC Charger up to 175 kW, which takes only 30 minutes to charge the EV from 20 to 80 percent. Gets 7.2 kW on-board AC charger that takes the time of whole night for fully charge the EV.
