Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 PHEV Spotted Undisguised - 1,000 hp Off-Roader

The Geely Galaxy will soon launch the plug-in hybrid electric off-roader Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700, domestically known as the Geely Galaxy Zhanjian 700. It was recently spotted testing undisguised in China, revealing its rear view. Notably, it is based on the Galaxy Cruiser concept, which the Chinese automobile manufacturer showed at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show.

The spy image shared by the SugarDesign on the Webio account shows the back profile of the car. The Geely Galaxy has already shared the official image of the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700, but they show only the front end and sides. With the spy image of its rear, all details about its exterior have emerged. Let’s have a closer look at its exterior design.

Up front, it has full-width daylight running lights, which connect with the block-shaped LED headlamps reflecting the modern lighting signature; a large and rugged bumper adds an off-road SUV look; a wide air intake is placed below for cooling of the engine and battery; and a roof-mounted LiDAR reflects that the car is equipped with the smart ADAS.

In profile, it has a flat roofline giving a rugged view, a large glass area for an airy cabin, traditional door handles for better practicality even in extreme cold conditions, and body-colored large ORVMs for better rear view. Squared-off blackout wheel arches enhance its off-roading identity, and the large alloy wheels with chunky odd tires give it a bold road presence.

The back has a side-hinged tailgate to help with easy boot access and also provide convenience in loading and unloading, an externally tailgate-mounted spare wheel that can be replaced in case of a tire burst during off-roading, three pieces of vertical LED taillamps giving it a modern and bold rear view, and a thick and rugged bumper that improves off-road durability.

Its dimensions aren’t yet revealed; reportedly, it will be 4.9 meters long with a wheelbase of around 3 meters to ensure rear seat passengers get ample legroom. Expected to have a boot space around 800 liters, which will help in carrying multiple pieces of luggage, meaning that the cargo capacity is set to be ideal for carrying stuff required for camping.

The spy shots show the PHEV off-roading SUV in silver, its launch may happen with the other colour options too. Sets to be available as a five-seater in a traditional layout of 2-3. The interior is expected to get seats made up of soft-touch premium quality leather; the front seats are expected to be powered with the memory function; they may also feature ventilation, massage, and heating functions.

Like to be introduced to a head-up display that projects driving information on the windshield, traditional digital instrument clusters may also exist. The center of the dashboard is set to feature a large infotainment system; two-thirds of the vehicle’s settings are expected to be touch-based, and a few physical buttons are likely to be available on the steering wheel and below the centrally mounted screen on the dashboard.

As a PHEV, it will get a turbocharged petrol engine under the hood and will be mounted with two electric motors, one on each axle. Reportedly, the combined power output is expected to exceed 1,000 hp. To power the motors, it will get a small LFP battery pack, which is likely to give an emission-free CLTC range of around 150 km.

The carmaker hasn’t revealed any date for the launch; some reports suggest that its debut in the Chinese market may happen in the second half of 2026 with a starting price of 250,000 CNY, which translates to 36,800 USD. Once launched, it will compete with the other electrified off-roaders that include the Land Rover Defender 130, Toyota Land Cruiser, Tank 700, and BYD Yangwang U8
