Fiat Launches Ultra-Compact Topolino EV in the US Starting at $13,995

Fiat (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino), an Italian automobile manufacturer that is owned by Stellantis, has come up with an ultra-compact two-seat electric vehicle, the Fiat Topolino EV, in the United States; it has been introduced as ideal for city commuting. The launch happened on July 7, 2026, for the US market with the price of $13,995 (₹13.31 lakh) before taxes and government fees.

With the launch, they have already started accepting orders through select U.S. fiat dealers. It gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle with a one-speed automatic gearbox. As the electric motor is mounted on the front wheels, it features a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. The PMSM generates the power of 6 kW (8 hp) and peak torque of 44 Nm (32.45 lb-ft).

The Topolino EV is equipped with a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that runs up to 74 kilometres (46 miles) on the World Motorcycle Test Cycle. It can reach a maximum speed of 30.6 km/h (19 mph) and takes 6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 30.6 km/h (0 to 19 mph). It supports AC chargers up to 2.3 kW and takes 4.5 hours for a full charge.

Reportedly, with the addition of a low-speed vehicle conversion kit, this electric vehicle’s top speed increased to 25 mph (40.2 km/h), for which the carmaker isn’t going to charge a single penny, but a destination fee of $990 (₹94,200) is mandatory. Meaning, to get it with the conversion kit, the payable amount is $14,985.

The option for additional LSV conversion kits is set to be available late summer 2026. The most expected date for the start of its delivery is early August 2026. The dimensions in terms of length are 2,535 mm, with the wheelbase being 1,730 mm, the width 1,400 mm, and the height 1,528 mm. Its kerb weight is 487 kg (1,074 lb). They have introduced this model in two variants that are standard and Dolce Vita.

The standard gets a fixed panoramic glass roof to make the cabin brighter and more spacious; asymmetrical doors with front opening from the driver and rear for the co-passenger to improve access in tight parking spaces; and a windscreen defroster to blow warm air into the windscreen to remove fog, condensation, or light frost in winter for better visibility.

Other notable features are the digital instrument cluster under the three-spoke steering wheel that shows speed, battery charge level, remaining range, and warning indicators; a smartphone holder to securely hold the smartphone so it can be used for turn-by-turn navigation, music, or calls; a luggage area behind the seat to carry the small items conventionally; and a storage compartment across the cabin to keep the wallet, sunglasses, charging cable, or documents safely.

On the other hand, the Dolce Vita gets a roll-up soft-top roof which can be rolled back to make the cabin airy; rope doors, removing the conventional one to give a beach-buggy look; a rear luggage rack mounted at the back of the vehicle that helps in carrying extra luggage; and Dolce Vita badging for brand identity. Also get a USB-C charging port and gear selector on the dashboard.

Outside, it gets a closed-off body-coloured grill to ensure better aerodynamics that help in improving the range, round-shaped LED headlights to ensure better visibility for nighttime driving, flared wheel arches for styling, a silver-coloured outside rear-view mirror, 14-inch alloy wheels with a retro-style cover giving it a distinct look, vertical LED taillamps and a bumper-integrated side reflector to give a clear view of the vehicle to other road users at night.
