The Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD’s Denza made the Denza Z debut to the domestic market on July 13, 2026, starting the pre-sale. Reportedly, within 24 hours they have received more than 1,000 orders, including all three variants: Coupe, Spider, and Racing. The prices for the first, second, and third ones are 680,000 yuan, 780,000 yuan, and 1.18 million yuan, respectively.
The official launch of the vehicle is all set to happen in the fourth quarter of 2026, as per the report. It is likely that the sale price will be a little cheaper than the pre-sale amount; however, there’s no word from the company regarding it. The carmaker has positioned the model as a rival to the Yangwang U9, the Aion Hyper SSR, and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.
This vehicle gets power from three electric motors; one is mounted on the front axle and the other two on the rear. Built on the e³ Sports Platform, featuring an all-wheel drive drivetrain and a single-speed automatic transmission. The peak power is 1,582 hp, equivalent to 1,164 kW or 1,604 PS, and peak torque is 1,240 Nm.
The company claims that the racing variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 1.96 seconds and can reach the maximum speed of 350 kmph with optional semi-slick tires. The standard sprinting timing is 2.25 seconds, and top speed is 300 km/h. Notably, the Coupe and Spider top speed are also 300 kmph, but the acceleration timing for 0 to 100 kmph is 2.25 seconds for the former one and 2.30 seconds for the latter one.
Under the floor, it is equipped with a 76 kWh lithium-ion BYD next-generation Blade battery pack, giving the CLTC range of 410 km, 400 km, and 380 km for the Coupe, Spider, and Racing, respectively. Reportedly, it supports BYD flash charging, which takes only 5 minutes to charge this vehicle from 10 to 70 percent and 9 minutes for 10 to 97 percent in ideal conditions. In case of extreme weather conditions such as -30 degrees Celsius, it takes 12 minutes for 20 to 97 percent charging.

The coupe and spider variants are 4,780 mm longer with a wheelbase of 2,780 mm and 1,975 mm wider; the height of the coupe is 1,330 mm and the spider is 1,350 mm; and the racing variant is 4,870 mm longer with a 2,780 mm distance between the axles, 1,990 mm wider, and 1,350 mm taller. The kerb weight is 2,230 kg, 2,300 kg, and 2,250 kg for the coupe, spider, and racing models, respectively.
All three variants of the Denza Z are available with a seating capacity of 4 people in a 2-2 layout. The first two variants are equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels, and the last one with 21 inches. The standard boot space for the first and last ones is 250 liters, and the mid variant has 131 liters when the roof is down, but in case the roof is up, it extends to 171 liters.
It has DiSus-M, the most adaptive suspension system from BYD; it uses magnetorheological dampers to provide better ride comfort on rough roads. Notably, the Coupe and Spider use DiSus-M with air suspension and DiSus-M with coil springs to ensure a more track-focused setup.
Other features are steer-by-wire, all wheels get carbon-ceramic discs, the front one has 6-piston and the rear has 4-piston calipers, a 15-in-1 fully integrated electric drive unit, one-touch drift mode, a tire burst control system, and four different track features, including launch control, track mode, compass turn, and boost mode.
