BYD’s Fangchengbao Tai 7 made its debut in the Chinese market on September 5, 2025, in four variants with the price between 179,800 yuan (₹25.53 lakh) and 219,800 yuan (₹31.21 lakh). Within eleven months after the launch, it had surpassed the sales number of 200,000 units.
When launched back in September 2025, they sold 8,128 units. In the next month, the sales increased to 20,024, registering a month-on-month 146.4% growth. In just 5 months, they sold a total of 103,476, and in the last six months, they have sold more than 100,000 units, achieving a sale of 200,000.
From September 2026 to June 2026, they sold a total of 189,146 units. On July 20, 2026, the Fangchengbao announced the achievement of the milestone of 200,000 units, meaning, in the last 20 days, they have sold more than 12,000 units. The sale figures for July 2026 will be available in the public domain most probably by August 10, 2026.
In December 2025, they sold 34,088 units, registering a month-on-month growth of 41.9%, the highest in the last ten months for which the sales figures are available in the public domain. Interestingly, since the launch, they have registered a decline only in two months: January 2026 and February 2026 by 49.8% and 31.4%, respectively.
Last month, they sold 23,710 units, 5,430 more than in May 2026. On a month-on-month basis, the carmaker registered a growth of 29.7%. In July 2026, it is most likely to see a decline in sales, because in 20 days they have sold around 12,000 units, and it is very unlikely that they will surpass the last month’s sales figures.
On April 29, 2026, the FCB launched the flash charging edition for the Tai 7 in two variants, whose prices were 199,800 yuan (₹28.45 lakh) and 209,800 yuan (₹29.87 lakh). After its launch, they sold a total of 18,280 in May 2026 with MoM growth of 7.5%. If sales decline in July 2026, this would be the first time when the carmaker will deregister a degrowth after the flash charging edition launch.
The flash-charging edition gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a one-speed automatic gearbox on the rear axle, whose power output is 300 kW (402 hp) and peak torque is 365 Nm (269.2 lb-ft). Available with two different second-generation BYD Blade lithium-ion battery packs, 92 kWh and 105.7 kWh, giving the CLTC range of 675 km and 755 km, respectively.
Its drivetrain is rear-wheel-drive. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 7.3 seconds for variants with standard battery packs and 7.5 seconds for large ones. The top speed is 240 kmph. Support BYD’s megawatt-level flash charging, which takes 5 minutes for 10 to 70 percent and 9 minutes for 10 to 97 percent charging.
Notably, an AWD option is also available with additional payment of 30,000 yuan, which translates to ₹4.27 lakh, to 209,800 yuan (₹29.87 lakh). It gets a PMSM with a single-speed automatic gearbox on the rear axle and an induction motor on the front. The combined power output is 515 kW (691 hp), peak torque is 675 Nm (498 lb-ft), and its 0 to 100 km/h sprinting time is 4.5 seconds.
Its top speed is also 240 km/h. Under the floor, it gets a 105.7 kWh second-generation Blade LFP battery pack, giving it the CLTC range of 670 km. Notably, this variant also comes with God’s Eye B, BYD’s advanced driving assistant system, which works with roof-mounted LiDAR featuring Navigation on Autopilot for urban and highway use.
