10 Minutes, 260 km Added: Mercedes GLC EV Opens Pre-Orders for July Launch

The German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the all-electric mid-size 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC EV in July 2026. Prior to the launch, they started the pre-sale on June 5, 2026, at a pre-sale price of 349,000 yuan, which translates to ₹49.04 lakh.

Notably, the launch price will be significantly lower than the one with which the pre-order is taking place. Reportedly, the launch price will be around 319,900 yuan, equivalent to ₹44.83 lakh. Let’s have a closer look.

It comes as AWD with a 2-speed automatic transmission

It gets two electric motors, one on each axle; however, it is yet to be confirmed that it gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor on both ends, or the PMSM at the rear axle and an induction motor at the front axle.

The setup makes it an all-wheel drive car, and the company says that it uses a two-speed automatic gearbox. With the dual-motor setup, it delivers the power of 310 kW (416 hp) and peak torque of 800 Nm, which helps it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds and go up to 210 km/h maximum speed, as per reports.

Equipped with an 85.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that runs up to 703 km under CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) conditions on a full charge. Supports a DC charger up to 300 kW, which charges from 10 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes. Just 10 minutes of charging adds a range of 260 kilometres.

Features 800-volt architecture and rear-wheel steering

Built on MB.EA (Mercedes-Benz Electric Architecture) platform with 800-volt electrical architecture. The front and rear suspension are four-link independent, which improves ride comfort over rough roads, and multi-link independent, which enhances traction during acceleration, respectively.

Features ADS+ Adaptive Dampers featuring real-time suspension stiffness with monitoring of road conditions, vehicle speed, steering inputs and braking and acceleration; and a rear steering wheel that turns the rear wheel in opposite directions of the front wheel up to 4.5 degrees at low speed, helping in parking.

Get modern lighting and an aerodynamic body

The exterior’s length, width and height are 4,949 mm, 1,970 mm and 1,710 mm, respectively, with body colour options of purple silver, mist blue and ink jade grey.

Up front, it gets a closed shield-style illuminated grill with 942 individual LED light elements giving the modern touch; a micro-slim LED headlamp with the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star LED daylight running lights enhances premiumness; and a smooth bumper with a small air intake ensures better aerodynamics.

In profile, it features a wheelbase of 3,027 mm, dual-toned outside rear-view mirrors with integrated indicators, flush-type door handles that reduce drag and improve aerodynamics, five-spoke alloy wheels that enhance road presence, and roof rails that help in carrying luggage on the roof.

And the rear, it features full-width LED taillights which connect with three-pointed-star light graphics taillamps, creating a wide stance; a sculpted tailgate gives it a tough rear look; and an integrated roof spoiler reduces turbulence at high speed.

Available with both a two-seating configuration and premium features

Comes with both a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3 and 6 people in a configuration of 2-2-2. All seats are electronically adjustable with a memory function and also feature heating, ventilation and massage functions. The five-seater features a boot space of 570 litres and also a frunk of 128 litres. It features a 39.1-inch seamless MBUX Hyperscreen that runs on the MB.OS operating system.
