Stelato, a premium Chinese EV manufacturer jointly created by Huawei and BAIC BluePark under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, is all set to start the pre-sale for the Stelato G9, a full-size luxury electric off-road sport utility vehicle, from August 5, 2026, for the Chinese market. However, it is still uncertain if they will start taking blind pre-orders with the tentative price.
On the scheduled date, the Chinese electric carmaker will start an event at 2:30 pm Beijing time (12:00 noon Indian time) for a presale announcement. It is more likely that during the event they will disclose specifications and features and also announce the price. Notably, the market launch in China is expected in the third quarter; we are expecting that September 2026 will mark it.
This upcoming electric vehicle will make its debut as a five-seater in a 2-3 layout with large boot space; the option of a six-seater will also be available in an arrangement of 2-2-2 with decent cargo capacity that will help in carrying luggage. Its dimensions are:

Reportedly, the carmaker will launch the Stelato G9 not only as a battery electric vehicle but also as an extended-range electric vehicle. Both versions are built on 800-volt high-voltage electrical architecture, featuring ultra-fast DC charging.
The BEV and EREV both get two electric motors, one on each axle. On the front axle, they have an induction motor with a power output of 160 kW and a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, which delivers 277 kW. Their combined power output is 437 kW, and their top speed is 220 km/h.
The battery electric vehicle is equipped with a 120 kWh Huawei Giant Whale battery pack, giving it a CLTC range of 700 km, and an extended-range electric vehicle with 75.4 kWh, which runs up to 400 km in EV mode under the same conditions. The drivetrain for both versions is all-wheel-drive.
Notably, the EREV also gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine under the hood, which acts as a generator to power the motor. Its power output is 118 kW. The combined driving range, when the battery pack is fully charged and fuel tank is full, is 1,300 km.
Features Huawei ADS 5.0 intelligent driving system, which works with 896-channel dual-optical-path LiDAR featuring city and highway navigation autopilot, automatic parking assist, over-the-air software updates, and others. Inside the cabin, it has three screens, including a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment system, and an entertainment display.
The entire cockpit runs on HarmonyOS, offering AI voice control, multi-device connectivity, cloud navigation, app integration, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. The cabin is expected to feature a multiple-speaker premium sound system, which ensures an immersive audio experience inside the cabin.
The infotainment system is available at the center of the dashboard that acts as the control panel of the cabin, as most of the settings are touch-based, digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel showing all the driving-related information, and entertainment screen before the co-passenger seat.
Built on the Huawei Tuling Longxing Platform, which features an intelligent active and adaptive suspension system featuring automatic adjustment based on road conditions and terrain and improves ride comfort and off-road capability, respectively. All wheels have disc brakes featuring an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
