The NIO ES9, the large all-electric SUV, launched on May 27, 2026, and delivery for it began just a day after that. As of August 8, 2026, a total of 20,000 units have been delivered. It took a total of 73 days to achieve this milestone. To reach the milestone of 10,000 deliveries, it took 30 days, and the second 10,000 sales happened in 43 days, 13 more days compared to the previous 10,000 deliveries.
William Li, the founder, chairman, and CEO of NIO, the Chinese EV manufacturer, personally delivered the 20,000th. The person who got this delivery is the Huaxiangyuan Tea’s chairman Xiao Wenhua. Out of total sales, 3,108 were in May 2026, 6,892 in June 2026, around 8,300 in July 2026, and above 1,700 in August 2026. The sale of August 2026 may take over July 2026 deliveries.
It is available for sale in three variants, which are the Executive Premium Edition, the Executive Signature Edition, and the Horizon Edition, with the prices of 498,000 CNY (73,804 USD), 558,000 CNY (82,672 USD), and 628,000 CNY (93,074 USD). The first variant is equipped with dual-chamber air suspension, and the last two with SkyRide fully active to ensure a smooth driving experience.

Available with the all-wheel-drive variant getting a 180 kW induction motor at the front axle and a 340 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear, the combined power output is 520 kW (697 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Its acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) is 4.3 seconds, and it can reach a maximum power of 220 km/h (137 mph).
They all are equipped with a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack; the range for the first one is 620 km with an energy efficiency of 17.4 kWh per 100 km and 600 km for the last two with 18.1 kWh per 100 km. The NIO ES9 is built on 900-volt electrical architecture, supporting peak charging of 600 kW, which is capable of adding the CLTC range of 255 km with just 5 minutes of charging.
The length, width, and height are 5,365 mm, 2,029 mm, and 1,870 mm with the wheelbase of 3,250 mm. Comes with a seating capacity of six people in a 2-2-2 layout with captain’s seats in the center featuring 1.5 meters of legroom. It has a 216-liter frunk (front storage trunk) and a boot space of 600 liters behind the third row that is expandable by folding the third-row and second-row seats.

Equipped with NIO’s Cedar AQUILA Super Sensing system with 31 high-performance sensing units and NIO’s next-generation computing architecture featuring Navigate on Pilot Plus with highway and urban assisted driving, automatic emergency braking and steering, and other features. It has 12 airbags inside the cabin to protect the occupants in case of an unfortunate collision or accident.
Inside, it has a 15.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen infotainment system at the center and two 16-inch NIO Link PanoDisplays for the entertainment of rear seating passengers with 3K resolution. Features a 48-inch 5K Skyline display on the dashboard, which shows all the driving data acting as a digital instrument cluster. Its center console has two wireless phone charging pads and cup holders.

The infotainment system is equipped with a 47-speaker LYRA 9.2.4.8 sound system to ensure an immersive audio experience, 5-zone intelligent climate control, and an 8.8 litre smart power fridge to keep the beverages. Seats have 42-point massage functions, including 20-point foot massage; they also are power-adjustable, and premium nappa leather. Also features active road noise control to ensure the quiet cabin experience.
