Buick, the General Motors-owned automobile brand, launched the Electra L7 EV, a pure-electric sedan, in China. They have launched three variants: Luxury, Smart and Avenir, with the prices of 179,900 yuan (26,500 USD), 199,900 yuan (29,400 USD), and 209,900 yuan (30,900 USD), respectively. Notably, its PHEV counterpart is already on sale in the Chinese market from September 2025.
Almost the months after introducing the EREV version, they have now come with the EV for the buyers who want to have a vehicle with zero emissions and contribute to making the environment clean for a healthy lifestyle for themselves and future generations. Notably, the recently introduced EV is the same as EREV in terms of dimensions. They both measure 5,032 mm longer, 1,952 mm wider and 1,500 mm taller.
The wheelbase of this Buick pure-electric sedan is 3,000 mm; compared to its main rival, the Xiaomi SU7, the distance between its axles is identical. Five seats are available inside the cabin in 2-3 layouts. Its second-row seats have ample legroom, headroom and shoulder room for three adults to sit comfortably. Like other sedans, it does have a boot space behind the second row whose capacity is 397 litres.
Power motor and larger battery
As a pure-electric sedan, the Electra L7 EV is available with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, getting an electric motor on the rear axle. The e-motor mounted at the rear moves the rear wheel, getting power from the LFP battery pack, whose capacity is 80.6 kWh. Notably, when the battery pack is fully charged, it can run up to 702 km under CLTC conditions.
It is important to understand the CLTC-certified range as claimed by the carmaker; this isn’t the actual range you will get after each full charge. In the real world the range totally varies depending on weather and driving conditions. In the real world, you can check it runs around 620 km for highway cruising, but for city driving it may be less.

The e-motor type is a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which delivers the power of 282 kW (378 hp) and torque of 382 Nm that help this pure-electric sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 220 km/h. Being built on 800-volt electrical architecture, it can support 6C ultra-fast DC charging that can add 450 km CLTC range within 10 minutes.
The thing which makes people think twice before making a purchase for an EV is range anxiety. This e-sedan tackles the same with fast charging like a refuelling station. It is worth noting that just 10 minutes can charge the battery pack so much that it can be around 360-380 km in real-world use.
Modern design and smart features
Outside, it has frameless doors with flush-type door handles that add premiumness to the side view. It also helps with better energy efficiency with reduced air drag. Features slim “Starry Sky Wing” LED headlamps with a distinctive vertical lighting element, adding a modern appearance to the sedan’s front-end view. Two wheel size options are provided: 19-inch and 20-inch; the former one is available with base variants and the latter with the top one.
Two new colour options have been spotted exclusively: the Stardust Green and the Cherry Blossom Pink. Its cabin has two displays: one is a 10.25-inch display behind the steering wheel as an instrument cluster, and another is a 15.6-inch display at the dashboard’s centre as an infotainment system. A 50-inch AR-HUD projecting driving data on the windscreen is available. The entire digital interface is a Qualcomm SA8775P chipset, which has an NPU neural computing power of 72 TOPS.

The screen placed just above the centre console is integrated with a 27-speaker Buick Sound theatre-grade sound system. A total of six interior themes are offered, including two new ones, which are “Distant Mountain Emerald” and “Danxia Night Cruise”; the other four are the same as what we get to see in its EREV counterpart. Also equipped with the Xiaoyao Zhixing, SAIC-GM’s ADAS, which features NOA for both city driving and highway cruising.
