Li Auto has officially confirmed that they are going to launch the next-generation Li Mega on September 2, 2026. This upcoming all-electric, full-size, multi-purpose vehicle will make its debut in the Chinese market at 7:30 PM Beijing time. They have named this car a next-generation mobile home.
The new-generation model is all set to arrive with a few tweaks and changes to the current generation; one among the changes are semi-hidden flush-type handles for the doors. Li Xiang, the Li Auto CEO, has officially confirmed that its cabin design is what they don’t have offered in any other vehicle.
One that is set to be discontinued is on sale in the Chinese market from March 01, 2024; it got a mid-life update in April 2025, almost two and a half years after the nameplate debuted. It is getting its new-generation version, whose score specifications have surfaced due to the homologation process.
Dimensionally, it is 5,355 mm longer with a 3,300 mm wheelbase, 1,850 mm wider, and 1,965 mm taller. Compared to the outgoing model, the upcoming model is 5 mm longer while remaining the same. As the second-generation model doesn’t have significant size changes, the cabin and boot space are set to be as spacious as now.
The seating layout of 2-2-3 is set to retain caption chairs in the middle row that have separate headrests and armrests for enhanced comfort. Like the existing version, the upcoming third row seats would also be foldable and forward-flippable up to 85 degrees to enhance the cargo capacity.
Its wheels get power from two electric motors, one mated to each axle. The front motor delivers 155 kW power, sourced from Huawei, and the rear motor puts out 258 kW; it is manufactured by Jiangsu Li Auto Drive. The combined power output of these electric motors is 413 kW, equivalent to 562 PS, and helps it to reach the top speed of 200 km/h.
Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited’s ternary lithium-ion battery pack is used in this car, which is assembled by the Ningde Jiaocheng Era New Energy Technology. Its capacity is still pending, and even though they haven’t disclosed how far it can run after each full charge.
The electric motor is mated with a single-speed automatic transmission; since two e-motors are available, it features an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The existing variant has only one LIDAR on the roof, but the new-generation model is set to get three more besides the front one, one on each side and one on the rear, providing much wider 360° coverage.
In the China MIIT filing release for the vehicle, only the kerb weight of 2,925 kg is mentioned, a clear indication that Li Auto will introduce the next-gen Mega in a single variant. At the launch event, they won’t only announce the price but also unveil all pending specifications and features.
Since the launch of the current-generation Mega, a total of 32,518 units have been sold, including 10,798 in 2024 between March and December, 18,541 in 2026 through the year, and 3,179 in 2026 between January and July. The month-wise sales are shared inside the table below.

After the next-generation Mega launch, a little boost in sales is anticipated. As the launch is scheduled in September, we get to know the actual number of deliveries in that month by October 10, 2026. The carmaker may introduce the model with a promotional discount for limited driving to the Li showroom across the country.
