MONA, Xpeng’s mainstream smart EV sub-brand, will launch the MONA L05 in the last quarter of 2026 in the China market; Chairman & CEO He Xiaopeng has himself confirmed it during the Xpeng Q2 2026 earnings call. In the event, he also talked about the launch of the XPeng G9L that they are going to do in September 2026.
With two new launches by late 2026, the carmaker is aiming to achieve the milestone of 60,000 monthly sales. In July, they sold a total of 38,027 units, around 22,000 less than what they have targeted for upcoming months. These two are the most awaited vehicles from the brand; following the launch, they are all set to boost the domestic sales for the carmaker.
The XPeng G9L is a five-seater large sport utility vehicle, which will make its debut with battery electric and extended-range electric powertrains; they both are built on 800-volt electrical architecture supporting fast DC charging to tackle the range anxiety problem. The presale for this model is already taking place with a 259,800 yuan (38,300 USD) price.
After the launch it is set to compete with Li L7 and Aito M7. As a BEV, it will be available for sale as a single-motor RWD and a double-motor AWD, generating the power up to 270 kW (362 hp) and 430 kW (577 hp), respectively. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is 4.45 to 6.8 seconds, and the CLTC range is 702 km to 755 km, depending on the battery pack and drivetrain.

Its EREV will also make its debut with the RWD and AWD drivetrain with either one or two motors and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol-powered ICE, giving the CLTC range on EV mode up to 435 km and a combined range of 1,602 km. The MONA L05 is also a five-seater car; it is mid-size, not a full one. In the MONA lineup, it is going to be the third vehicle after the M03 sedan and L03 compact SUV.
The upcoming mid-size SUV under the banner of MONA will also go on sale as a BEV and EREV. Reports suggest that it will come with only a two-wheel-drive option, but there’s no confirmation regarding whether it will be RWD or FWD. Core specifications appearing in the China MIIT filing reveal that they have the same e-motor, which delivers 183 kW (245 hp) power.
In addition to the electric motor, the EREV version also has a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol ICE that has a power output of 70 kW. The BEV is to go on sale with two different LFP battery packs that are 58.2 and 71.1 kWh, giving a range of 560 to 660 km under CLTC conditions; and the EREV has a 37.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack giving a pure-electric range of 253 km. Both have a top speed of 180 km/h.

They have not only planned to launch two new models to achieve the milestone of 60,000 monthly sales; for the existing model, L03, they are already starting the dual-shift production. The export of this model in the overseas market is yet to begin; during the event, Mr. He also confirmed that it will start by late 2026.
In 2026, between January and July, they delivered a total of 204,004 with an average of 29,143 monthly sales. In January, February, March, April, May, June and July, a total of 20,011; 15,256; 27,415; 31,011; 32,158; 40,126; and 38,027 units, respectively, have been delivered.
