Xpeng, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially released the image of the XPENG Mona L03, a fastback sport utility vehicle, revealing the exterior. Let’s have a closer look at its front, side and rear.
- Upfront, it gets mallet-shaped LED headlights that integrate main headlamps inside the vertical housing and daylight running lights in the horizontal Xpeng logo just below the hood, closed-off grille, and black bumper cladding with an active air intake.
- On the sides, it has sporty wheel arches, five-spoke pinwheel geometry alloy wheels, front door-integrated ORVMs with blinkers, and flush-type door handles.
- At the back, it features full-width LED taillights that turn on the tailgate and edges, a spoiler on the end of the roof, a bumper-integrated side reflector, and a minimalistic tailgate with XPENG letters.
Reportedly, the carmaker will introduce the Mona L03 in two lengths that are 4,650 mm and 4,672 mm; notably, the other dimensions for both are the same. The width, height and wheelbase are 1,920 mm, 1,600 mm, and 2,850 mm, respectively.

Its main competitors in the Chinese market are Next-Gen BYD Atto 3, Geely Galaxy E5, and Deepal S05. In terms of wheelbase, the XPENG Mona L03 is shorter by 80 mm and 100 mm compared to the first and second ones but 30 mm longer than the third one.
In reports, two wheel size options are mentioned: 18 inch with 245/45 tyres and 20 inch with 225/60; they will offer the standard variant with the smaller one and the top end with the larger one. China’s MIIT filing catalogue release confirms that kerb weight starts from 1,855 kg to 1875 kg.
The carmaker is yet to reveal the interior. Reportedly, it will borrow many things from the Mona M03, a fastback sedan. Set to come with the seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout with decent boot space. The cabin may also feature the following:
- Two-spoke steering wheel with the Xpeng logo and physical buttons.
- Large floating touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard with wireless connectivity.
- Ventilated, heated, and electrically adjustable front seats.
- Wireless phone charging pad and two cup holders at the centre console.
Its launch will take place in the Chinese market as an electric vehicle and extended-range electric vehicle. The EV is set to get a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle with single-speed automatic transmission delivering the power of 183 kW.
On the other hand, the EREV gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated internal combustion engine, which generates the peak power of 70 kW, and an electric motor setup from the EV. They haven’t revealed the combined power output. Both will feature a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain.

As of now, battery packs for either of these aren’t revealed. Reports say the EREV has emission-free range up to 257 km. We are expecting the EV may borrow the battery pack of its sibling, Xpeng Mona M03.
Notably, the M03 is available with two lithium iron phosphate battery packs that are 55 kWh and 69 kWh; the standard one gives the CLTC range of 505 km, and the same with the larger one runs on 640 km.
Xpeng hasn’t confirmed any date for the launch of Mona L03. They are expected to unveil it in China in July 2026, and then a launch may take place in the second half of 2026. Notably, it is going to be the second model in the Xpeng Mona mass-market lineup.
Pricing is still uncertain. Some reports suggest that with the unveiling they will start the pre-sale with a price around 159,000 yuan (₹22.23 lakh); at the time of launch, its price may go down to 139,000 yuan (₹19.43 lakh).
