On August 11, 2026, BYD launched the 2027 BYD Seal 06 with battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric powertrains. It is a refreshed version of the Seal 06 DM-i and Seal 06 EV introduced to the Chinese market back in May 2024 and June 2025, respectively; the new one has arrived with many upgrades and changes.
They have launched the 2027 model of the Seal 06 EV and Seal 06 DM-i in a total of twelve variants, six for each powertrain. By refreshing the model, they have strengthened the model positioning against the rival, including EVs: XPeng Mona M03 and Geely Galaxy A7, and PHEVs: Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 and Geely Galaxy A7 EM-i.

Exterior & Color Options
The updated Seal 06 has slim LED headlights on the edge below the bonnet, which integrate daylight running lights and main headlamps. Features a body-colored enclosed grille, whose center gets a BYD logo for branding. The air intakes, which keep the battery pack and motor setup cool, are placed below the number plate holder.

On the sides, it has A-pillar-mounted outside rear-view mirrors, semi-hidden flush-type door handles, alloy wheels with Y-shaped spokes, pronounced wheel arches, and lower body cladding. And its rear has a full-width LED taillight, minimalist tailgate, rear windshield, and black bumper cladding with the horizontal-shaped reflector.

Five exterior color options are available for the newly introduced Seal 06 PHEV and EV, which are Xueyu White, Nuanyang White, Yunhai Gray, Atlantis Gray, and Ji Xi Green.
Dimensions & Space
The length, width, and height of the revamped Seal 06 DM-i and EV are 4,870 mm, 1,890 mm, and 1,495 mm, respectively. Its wheelbase is 2,820 mm, and ground clearance is 135 mm. It comes with a seating capacity of 5 individuals in a 2-3 layout, and boot space is 491 liters and 460 liters for PHEV and EV, respectively. The EV version also has a frunk (front trunk storage) of 65 liters.

Technology & Features
Both the PHEV and EV of the facelifted Seal 06 are equipped with God’s Eye 5.0, BYD’s latest ADAS, which features navigation autopilot for city driving and highway cruising, all-scenario intelligent parking, and other features with the help of roof-mounted LiDAR, multiple sensors and cameras, and DiSus-C intelligent electromagnetic damping control to enhance driving comfort on all types of terrains.
Its cabin gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel. The center console, available between the co-passenger and driver seats, gets a 50-watt wireless phone charging pad and two cup holders. Also features a 29-inch W-HUD, which projects the driving data on the windshield.

Powertrain & Performance
The refreshed Seal 06’s PHEV gets a 74 kW 1.5 liter four-cylinder NA petrol-powered internal combustion and a 120 kW or 175 kW electric motor. Equipped with 25.287 kWh and 34.275 kWh lithium-ion battery packs, giving the CLTC range of 230 km and 320 km, respectively. The combined range is 2,370 km for both battery pack variants with the fuel efficiency of 2.59 liters per 100 kilometers.
On the other hand, the EV gets an electric motor of either 120 kW or 240 kW on the rear axle with single-speed automatic transmission. Its CLTC range is 530 km and 630 km with the 52.868 kWh and 64.315 kWh next-generation Blade lithium-ion battery packs, respectively. They have a top speed of 160 kmph, and the 0 to 100 kmph acceleration timing is 5.9 seconds for the more powerful motor setup.
