The BYD Sealion 08 launched on September 2, 2026, as a battery electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in China. It is now available for sale in a total of eight variants, 5 as BEVs and 3 as PHEVs, with the following prices.

Seating, spaces, and dimensions.
The Sealion 08 is available with seating capacity of 5 and 6 people in 2-3 and 2-2-2 layouts, respectively; they both have a frunk (front storage trunk) of 201 liters. The cargo capacity is 317 liters and 943 liters for six-seaters and five-seaters, respectively. The boot space can be expanded up to 1,881 liters for five-seaters and 1,173 liters for six-seaters.
With the length, width, and height being 5,115 mm, 1,999 mm, and 1,800 mm, respectively, it gets the proportions of a large, long, and wide premium SUV. The wheelbase of 3,030 mm longer doesn’t only make the cabin spacious, it also enhances the high-speed stability. Its front and rear track are 1,716 mm and 1,730 mm, respectively.
Motor setup, battery pack, range, and other core specs.
The PHEV Venison is built on BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology; it gets a 115 kW (154 hp) 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine and a 200 kW (268 hp) permanent magnet synchronous motor under the hood with dedicated hybrid transmission and features the front-wheel-drive drivetrain. The AWD drivetrain variant also gets a PMSM on the front axle.
It is equipped with the 55.843 kWh BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery pack, giving the CLTC range of 350 km and 400 km for the AWD and FWD, respectively. The combined range is 1,650 km with the fuel efficiency of 4.6 liters per 100 km on the NEDC condition. The top speed is 200 km/h for both drivetrains. The BEV version is available as RWD and AWD, getting a PMSM with one-speed automatic transmission at the rear axle, and all from RWD and an induction motor on the front axle.
The RWD variant delivers the power of 370 kW (497 hp), and the AWD puts out up to 370 kW (497 hp). The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 kmph is 3.9 seconds for the double-motor variant and 5.9 seconds for the single-motor trim. The CLTC range with the 115.072 kWh second-generation Blade Battery is 800 km for AWD and 900 km for RWD. The maximum speed is 240 km/h for the single-motor setup trim, and the same for the double-motor, which is 250 km/h.
Technology and features.
It is equipped with the God’s Eye 5.0 intelligent driving system featuring the God’s Eye B driver-assistance system that works with the roof-mounted LiDAR and supports urban navigation on Autopilot and highway navigation assistance. Its cabin has a 17.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and also a 26-inch AR head-up display. K7 also has adjustable through-type ambient lighting that enhances cabin aesthetics. There is also a 21.4-inch rear ceiling-mounted HD display with the 25-speaker Devialet audio system, giving the cabin the feel of a mini theater with an immersive sound experience.
Its front seats are electronically adjustable in eight-way; they have heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The six-seater has zero-gravity seats in the middle. To further enhance the cabin premiumness, a 7.3-liter onboard refrigerator is added with both heating and cooling features to keep the beverages and eatables fresh.
