2026 BYD Da Han Electric to Launch on October 13 With Up to 1008 km Range

Build Your Dreams has officially confirmed the date on which they are going to launch BYD Da Han. The electric vehicle manufacturer has officially confirmed that the launch of this flagship large sedan under the BYD Dynasty sedan will take place on October 13, 2026. The pre-sale for this imminent car is already taking place from August 21, 2026.

Notably, the launch is going to take place around 50 days after the pre-sale starts. BYD fans not only in China but also across the globe are eagerly waiting for the launch. After its launch in the Chinese market, BYD will also launch it in the international market. The first country where they may launch this car after the China launch is European countries.

Earlier BYD confirmed that the launch of the BYD Da Han will take place with both all-electric and plug-in hybrid electric versions, but the launch for the latter one seems to be delayed. For the pure electric counterpart, the presale will last until the launch date with the price of 249,900 yuan (37,500 USD). The sale price will vary from the presale cost, as per many Chinese reports.

The launch in October 2026, scheduled with the all-electric powertrain, MIIT filing catalogue release, and presale, has already revealed that this car EV version will go on sale with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains. The former will have only a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, and the latter will also come with the induction motor on the front axle.

The homologation filing reveals that there will be two RWDs and only one AWD that will deliver 370 kW and 570 kW, respectively. The next-generation 102.326 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is certain for the drivetrain with a CLTC range of 1008 km for the single-motor, but the same for the double-motor is confirmed as 880 km.

The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 kmph is 3.3 seconds for the AWD variant, but the same for the RWD is still undisclosed, but the top speed for both is revealed. The dual-motor trim is 30 kmph faster than the single-motor; the former has a maximum speed of 270 kmph, and the latter has only 240 kmph.

Prior to the launch, not only powertrain and performance but also other details have been revealed. Its length, width, and height are 5,256 mm, 1,999 mm, and 1,510 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 3,130 mm. Even the drag coefficient and minimum turning radius have been revealed as 0.197 CD and 4.95 meters, respectively.

The DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering are the features that enhance the premiumness; the former one ensures a smooth driving experience on all types of terrain, and the latter helps with easily taking turns in compact areas. These two features strengthen its positioning against the rivals in the full-size all-electric sedan segment.

Features that enhance seating comfort are two zero-gravity seats in the front row. It is also equipped with the God’s Eye B with LiDAR, supporting navigation autopilot for both city driving and highway cruising. Reports even mention the 31-speaker Devialet system to ensure an immersive audio experience inside the cabin.

Apart from the launch date, Lu Tian, general manager of sales for the company Dynasty lineup, hasn’t revealed any other details about registering the launch of this all-electric sedan. It is certain that the carmaker will launch the model by organizing an event, but so far the venue or timing is not revealed.

The launch of the BYD Da Han will help the carmaker increase the sale number in the Dynasty lineup in the domestic market and also globally after the international debut. The models that are already on sale in China under this family are Yuan, Qin, Song, Tang, Han, and Da Tang. The upcoming Da Han will have the seventh model in its portfolio.
