On August 4, 2026, Dongfeng Nissan, a joint venture between Japanese automaker Nissan Motor and Chinese carmaker Dongfeng Motor Corporation, released a teaser image for a new electrified sport utility vehicle, the Dongfeng Nissan NX7.
The teaser image they have released reveals that it will come to the Chinese market with roof-mounted LiDAR units that work with an intelligent advanced driving assistant system featuring Highway Navigation Assist, Urban Navigation Assist, and Intelligent Assisted Parking.
Other details that we got to know about this upcoming SUV under the N series are roof-mounted rails which help in mounting the luggages on the roof, and front-door integrated outside rear-view mirror, set to be electronically adjustable and foldable and will give a clear view of blind spots.
The ORVMs integrate blinkers that help with informing the road user running ahead about the next move. Coming under the N series, it will make its debut with the N series family design language, which includes split LED headlights, the daylight running light below the bonnet, and bumper-integrated main headlamps.
Other notable features on the exterior, which is available on all the models that have been introduced under the N series, are the illuminated Nissan logo at the center of the DRLs, flush-type handles for the doors, a sculpted body surface, a full-width LED taillight at the rear, and aero-optimized alloy wheels.

This upcoming vehicle from Dongfeng Nissan may make its debut in China with both battery electric and extended-range electric powertrains. In the brand’s N series lineup, it will sit just below the NX8, the flagship premium SUV, which is available for sale in China from April 8, 2026.
The NX7 is set to cost less than its sibling, the NX8, which is available for sale with the price of 159,900 to 209,900 yuan (22.81 to 29.94 lakh rupees), so we are expecting the NX7 to cost 129,900 to 169,900 yuan (18.53 to 24.24 lakh rupees). Notably, they will announce the actual price with the launch.
The launch of the Dongfeng Nissan NX7 will add the fourth model in the N series lineup; the three already available for sale are the N7, the N6, and the NX8. The first two are sedans, but the former one is available as a battery electric vehicle, and the latter as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
The only SUV in the lineup is the NX8, which comes as both BEV and EREV, so the upcoming one, NX7, is also expected to make its debut with both powertrains. Following the launch, this upcoming electrified SUV may take on the BYD Song Plus, the Deepal S07, and the Leapmotor C10.
Both the BEV and EREV are expected to come with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, getting an electric motor on the rear axle. Under the floor, they will have a lithium-ion battery pack. The BEV will get a battery pack of 70-80 kWh, giving the CLTC range of 550-650 km, and the EREV around 30-40 kWh, which may run on EV mode for 150-250 km.
It is also a five-seater sport utility vehicle in a 2-3 layout with decent boot space behind the second row. Inside the cabin, it is set to get a wireless phone charging pad on the center console and physical buttons for controls and settings.
Under the steering wheel, it is set to have a digital instrument cluster showing driving-related information and a touchscreen infotainment system at the center. The centrally mounted unit will support OTA software updates, wireless multi-device connectivity, and Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
