The Chinese automaker Chery Automobile’s EXEED unveiled the EX9, a full-size flagship SUV, at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. It is currently shown as near production, and reports say the vehicle may be introduced to the domestic market by late 2026 or early 2027; official confirmation is awaited.
The vehicle is set to be positioned as a ‘million-yuan class’ luxury SUV segment, so there’s high speculation that the price in China will start from ¥600,000 and go up to ¥1,000,000, which translates to $85,000 to $135,000 in the United States. Domestically, it will compete with the AITO M9.
Powertrain Options
The EXEED will introduce the EX9 with two different powertrains, which are electric vehicle and extended-range electric vehicle. Both are set to be equipped with solid-state batteries, which are more efficient than the traditional LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery.
The EV is set to be equipped with a dual motor and a large battery, giving it a CLTC range of 700 km (435 miles), while the EREV will feature an engine, a dual motor, and a small battery pack, featuring an only-electric range of 400 km (248 miles) and an overall range of 1,500 km (932 miles), respectively, on CLTC conditions.

As per the reports, the top trim of both EV and EREV is expected to come with a triple-motor setup, one on the front axle and two on the rear, featuring an all-wheel drive option and two-speed automatic transmission. The 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) acceleration is expected under 4 seconds and top speed up to 240 km/h (150 mph).
Notably, the EV is set to support ultra-fast charging, which can add the CLTC-range range of 500 km (310 miles) with the charge of 5 minutes; and the engine in the EREV works as a generator to power the motors by consuming the fuel with excellent mileage.
Interior Features
The EX9’s both EV and EREV versions will be available for sale with a seating capacity of six people in a 2-2-2 layout. The second row seats will be captain-type with separate armrests and headrests for better comfort for all occupants. It is set to be equipped with a ‘Skyline’ full-width display and floating central touchscreen for the infotainment of occupants.
All seats are set to come with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The cabin will also feature multi-color ambient lighting to enhance it, a built-in fragrance system to ensure freshness, a multi-speaker sound system for an immersive sound experience, an onboard refrigerator for heating and cooling, and a wireless charging pad for phone charging.
The interior will also feature a decent boot space for carrying luggage, which is expandable by folding the third-row and second-row seats, as per the need, to carry big luggage. The actual cargo space capacity in terms of liters is yet to be revealed; the automaker will announce the details regarding it with the launch of the vehicle.
Exterior & Technology

The EX9 is expected to be a 5.3-meter-long SUV, large compared to rivals. Up front it features a bold and muscular stance and futuristic LED lighting. Get large alloy wheels and flush-type door handles at the sides and a sophisticated lighting design and split “clamshell” tailgate at the rear on the vehicle.
It comes with a LiDAR-based advanced driving assistant system that works with the HD cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic sensors, featuring urban and highway navigation and full-scenario automatic parking, which make the driving semi-autonomous and stress-free.
