MG 07, a fastback sedan which was launched in the Chinese market on August 21, 2026, with the plug-in hybrid electric and battery electric powertrains, achieved the milestone of 42,000 locked-in orders in just 20 days. That is a big achievement for the Chinese carmaker; it clearly shows that drivers across China are preferring MG’s all-new electric and plug-in electric sedan over its rival.
When launched at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, this car received 10,000 confirmed orders in just 1 minute 57 seconds, breaking its own record of 39 minutes 37 seconds, which they built with the MG4 model. The delivery for this car has already started on September 1, 2026; the very first month delivery number will be out in October 2026. They will be made by the CPCA around the 10th of the month.
42,000 orders breakdown.
The MG Motor itself announced they received more than 42,000 locked-in orders as of September 11, 2026, via a social media post. They also have revealed that around 45%, i.e., 18,900 orders, are received for the 845 km variants, such as the EV 845 LiDAR and EV 845 Flagship, and the remaining 55%, i.e., 23,100, for other EV trims: the EV 650 Comfort, the EV 610 LiDAR, and the EV 610 Flagship, and two PHEV models: the Hybrid 245 Comfort and the Hybrid 245 LiDAR.

MG 07 core specifications.
The MG 07’s EV and PHEV underpin the modular scalable platform and feature a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. They both are available as five-seaters with 2-3 layouts. The length and width are 4,886 mm and 1,900 mm, respectively; the height for BEV is 1,485 mm, and for PHEV, it is 1,478 mm. The wheelbase is 2,825 mm, and the turning radius is 5.36 metres.
The BEV is available with both 400-volt and 800-volt electrical architectures; both have a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle with single-speed automatic transmission. The former one delivers the power of 176 kW, and the latter generates 235 kW, which takes a time of 5.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph.
With the 67 kWh Qingtao semi-solid/solid-liquid battery pack, the 400-volt version gives a CLTC range of 610 to 650 km and supports a 3C charger that can charge the battery pack from 30 to 80 per cent in 20 minutes; on the other hand, the 800-volt trim gets an 80 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery pack that gives an 845 km CLTC range and supports a 5C charger that takes 12 minutes for 30 to 80 per cent charging.
The PHEV gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol-powered internal combustion engine that delivers 82 kW power, and there’s also an electric motor on the front axle whose power output is 152 kW. The motor and engine are mated with a 1-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. The EV-mode range is 245 km CLTC, and combined it is 1,745 km CLTC.
There’s a frunk of 168 litres and a rear boot space of 697 litres. Its aerodynamic drag is 0.23 Cd. Its cabin has a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen that is powered by an 8295P cockpit chip and runs on Inspiration OS. The main screen is mated with the 21-speaker audio system to ensure an immersive audio experience inside the cabin.
