MG 07 Sedan Launched: 7 Variants, Up to 845 km Range and 5.9-sec Acceleration

On August 21, 2026, the MG 07 mid-size sedan launch took place in China, delivery for which will start shortly. Now, it is available for sale in a total of seven variants, including two plug-in hybrids and five battery-electric. Exterior dimensions, design, features and colour options 

It is 4,886 mm longer, 1,900 mm taller, and 1,485 mm wider with a 2,825 mm wheelbase. Notably, compared to its main rival, the BYD Seal 07, it is 75 mm shorter. Although its distance between the axles is shorter than the closest rival, it even gives ample space for all occupants to sit comfortably.

A total of six exterior colour options are available for the MG 07 mid-size sedan; they are Morello Purple, Notting Grey, Oxford Blue, Milia Pink, California Blue and Salt Lake White. All these colours are available as standard, meaning choosing any of them makes you pay an additional cost.

Its exterior has a modern LED lighting signature that integrates daylight running lights and main headlamps. The active air intakes at the front end enhance its aerodynamics and also help with keeping the electric components beneath the floor cool. 

Other highlights from its exterior are sporty two-tone alloy wheels with yellow brake callipers and a 5-stage adjustable electric rear spoiler. Frameless doors with semi-hidden handles, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, and a double-toned outside rear-view mirror.

Motor setup, battery pack, charging and other specifications 

The MG 07 sedan as PHEV and EV is available with front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive drivetrains, respectively. The plug-in hybrid electric version gets a 1.5-litre engine and an electric motor under the hood; they are mated with a one-speed dedicated hybrid transmission whose performance details are tabulated below.

On the other hand, the battery-electric version gets an electric motor on the front axle, which is mated with single-speed automatic transmission, and gets power from the battery pack mounted beneath the floor. Seating layout, boot space, interior features and technology 

The cabin is available with two interior themes, which are White Violet and Royal Blue. 5 seats are available in a 2-3 arrangement with the cargo capacity of 697 litres, which you can use to carry up to 7 pieces of luggage, including 4 big and 3 small. The space is enough to carry luggage for a family of 5 when visiting somewhere to attend an event.

Inside, it has a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen that runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset. Its drive seat is electrically adjustable and also features heating and ventilation to enhance comfort. Its front passenger seat is a Queen Zero-Gravity seat with a power leg rest to add premium comfort, and the rear seat has both heating and ventilation features.

A 21-speaker 7.1.4-channel surround sound system is integrated with the infotainment screen to enhance the audio experience; a dual-temperature refrigerator is built in the second row to keep the drive cool or hot; there are 34 storage spaces for enhanced practicality; and a large panoramic glass roof makes the cabin feel airy and spacious.
