After teasing the XPeng G9L exterior, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng has now released the interior images, revealing the cabin. Inside, it has a Sahara Orange interior colour, giving the cabin a fresh feel; a “Starry Universe First-Class Cabin” design for better aesthetics; and velvet-textured premium leather upholstery for seats to ensure better comfort for all.
It comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts. The front co-passenger and rear right-side seats are AI-adaptive zero-gravity. They feature massage, heating, and ventilation functions. They are also electronically adjustable. Notably, it has 5.1 m² of usable cabin space with over 1 m² of personal space per occupant, giving ample legroom, headroom, and shoulder room for each.
The front seats can lie flat and create a sleep space for the rear passengers, and the second-row middle seat can be used as an armrest when only two or four individuals are in traffic; doing so gives the cabin a look and also enhances the comfort for occupants. For the side and rear window, it features a powered sunshade to block direct sunlight and glare and improves rear passenger privacy.
Notably, seats come with 91 pressure sensors in the seats for automatic posture adjustment that enhance the seating comfort and make the long journey more comfortable. Seats also have power-adjustable side bolsters and lumbar support for adjusting the side cushions on the seat back and lower back support, respectively.
Features a D-shaped, two-spoke steering wheel with an XPeng logo, whose column has a gear selector, under which there’s a slim digital instrument cluster that displays drive-related information. It also has an 88-inch augmented reality head-up display with 12,000 nits of brightness and less than 1% image distortion, which projects the driving-related information on the windscreen.
The centre of the dashboard has a floating, horizontally orientated touchscreen infotainment system, which runs on a second-generation VLA AI model using up to 2,250 TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second) of AI computing power. The infotainment system supports AI smart cockpit, intelligent voice assistant, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Instead of the traditional inside rear-view mirror, a 9-inch digital streaming rear-view mirror with 1080p resolution, which features automatic exposure adjustment based on speed and ambient light. It shows the clear view of the traffic behind via the camera installed at the rear of the vehicle.
Between the driver and co-passenger seat, it has a floating centre console, which are dual 50W smart pop-up wireless charging pads for phone charging convenience for the co-passenger and driver, and dual connected cup holders for enhanced practicality and hidden smart storage compartments for carrying the small items.
For the rear seating passengers, it has a 21.4-inch 3K rear entertainment display that is mounted on the ceiling for video and audio streaming. Reportedly, it has a 92% screen-to-body ratio, 7.4 mm bezels, TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, and is electrically adjustable up to 75° to get the best view from different seating positions.
In the second row, it also has a voice-controlled 12.5-litre refrigerator, the same as the Xpeng GX, to keep the eatables and beverages; it is accessible from the first and second rows. Other notable features are a large panoramic roof to make the cabin airy, ambient lighting to enhance the nighttime driving mood, and 1,152 litres of boot space behind the second row for carrying luggage.
The second-row middle seat that can be transformed into an armrest has a wireless phone charging pad, two cup holders, physical buttons for control, and a rotatable folding table, which helps with eating during the long journey. The cabin also has multiple-zone automatic climate controls, which maintain separate temperatures for the driver, co-passenger, and other occupants, and separate rear AC vents.
