XPENG Mona L03 SUV Revealed: 183 kW EV & EREV Launching H2 2026 at 150,000 Yuan

Mona, the sub-brand under XPENG, is planning to introduce the first entry-level SUV in China, the latest release of China’s MIIT filing reveals. Set to be called the Mona L03.

The launch will happen as both EV and EREV. The one with the all-electric powertrain is set to be introduced with a single motor ‘TZ200XY01D03X’ from Luxshare Precision Technology at the rear axle, featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. It is set to use a single-speed automatic transmission.

The maximum power of the motor is 183 kW. Filing doesn’t reveal its battery pack, but reportedly it will be offered with the same two LFP battery packs, supplied by CALB, with its sibling, the Mona 03 sedan. The sedan is available with 56 kWh and 69 kWh, whose CLTC range is 505 km and 650 km, respectively.

The other that features an extended-range electric powertrain gets a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol 4-cylinder engine, which acts as a generator to power the motor; its battery pack details are yet to be revealed, although it is confirmed that it will feature an only-electric CLTC range of 257 km.

It will be available for sale in lengths that are 4,650 mm and 4,672 mm; however, the width, height, and wheelbase for both are going to be the same. They measure 1,920 mm, 1,600 mm, and 2,850 mm, respectively. Its measurements are quite close to Tesla Model Y.

The MIIT filing also revealed its official images, which disclose all about its exterior. Its headlights are in a T-shape, giving it a modern look. It features an active intake grille open and close functions for cooling and better aerodynamics, respectively, and have a front bumper with angular cuts giving an aggressive look.

Looking from the sides, a coupe-like roofline giving a floating roof effect; flush-type door handles reducing drag and improving aerodynamics; sharp character lines adding muscularity; and large alloy wheels enhancing road presence are clearly visible.

The back of the car gets a full-width LED taillight bar that creates a wide stance; a spoiler integrated with the rear body improves airflow; the bumper at the back gives a wider visual stance; and the letters ‘XPENG’ are present on the tailgate, reflecting the brand identity.

The MIIT filing doesn’t reveal its interior features; however, a few things are available in the public domain regarding its cabin. It is set to be introduced to the Chinese market with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3, which will feature a large panoramic sunroof and camera-based smart driving hardware.

Many reports say that the cabin is going to be equipped with a large floating touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard that is set to act as the control panel of the cabin, as most of the controls are expected to be touch-based.

Similar to many entry-level SUVs, it will also feature a digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel. As it is going to be the first car from the XPENG under the Mona line-up, it is tough to guess which features they will add to the car.

Many reports from Chinese automotive news portals are saying that the company is working to introduce the car with possible smart features while staying competitive so they can drive more and more drivers to the dealership once it’s launched.

The carmaker hasn’t officially disclosed any date for its launch in the Chinese market, and even its pricing isn’t made public. The launch is most expected to happen in the second half of 2026 with the price around 150,000 CNY, which translates to 20,500 USD.
