Fangchengbao, the subsidiary of carmaker Build Your Dreams, released a teaser for the Fangchengbao Ti 9 (Tai 9), a full-size premium electrified sport utility vehicle, on August 3, 2026, revealing its silhouette. The carmaker is all set to introduce it in China by late 2026; they will also introduce it in the international market in 2027 but under the banner of BYD, as the Ti7 has made its debut in the United Kingdom as the BYD Ti7 on July 31, 2026.
The teaser video they have teased for the upcoming FCB Tai 9 confirms what we get to know through the spy shots of its test mules. It is a full-size sport utility vehicle with a long wheelbase. Reportedly, the carmaker will introduce the model to the domestic market in three different seating layouts, which are 5, 6 and 7 in 2-3, 2-2-2, and 2-3-2, respectively. The international market may see the only launches as six-seater and seven-seater.
The carmaker has already confirmed that the launch of this vehicle will take place as a battery electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in the second half of 2026. As of now, there’s no update in which month the market launch will happen. Before launching it in the market, they will start the pre-sale with a tentative price. Following the market launch, it will take on the Tank 500 Hi4-T, the Yangwang U8L, and the Zeekr 9X.
Sharing the teaser video on Webio, Xiong Tianbo, general manager of the Fang Cheng Bao business unit, wrote that it ‘won’t be a long wait’, hinting that they are going to introduce the model very soon. The Fangchengbao has already revealed two dimensions, which are length and wheelbase. It is 5.3 m longer with the 3.1 m distance between the axles. Its width and height are still pending; they will reveal them with the launch.
This upcoming vehicle from BYD’s FCB has already been spotted testing on public roads in China. The spy shots of the same reveal that it has a split LED headlight setup; the daylight running lights are placed below the bonnet, and the main headlamps are available below on the bumper. Other notable features on the exterior are roof rails, A-pillar-mounted ORVMs, pull-type door handles, wheel arch cladding, a roof-integrated spoiler, side LED taillamps, and a rugged rear bumper.
Among the FCB Ti 9 (Tai 9) spy shots floating on the web, there are also images which reveal the interior. Inside, it has a four-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons and an FCB logo; its column features a gear selector. Under the steering wheel, there’s a slim digital instrument cluster. The dashboard has a large touchscreen, which acts as an infotainment system as well as a co-passenger entertainment screen, which may support OTA software updates and AI-based voice assistants.
The battery electric vehicle version will come with a double-motor quad-wheel-drive drivetrain with a single-speed automatic transmission, and the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle will also come with two motors; it will also get a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine that will run the wheels in hybrid mode. The carmaker hasn’t yet disclosed the power output and other details, all set to be unveiled soon.
It’s certain that both the PHEV and BEV versions are set to be equipped with the next-generation Blade lithium-ion battery pack, which gives better efficiency and supports ultra-fast charging, removing the range anxiety. Still, it is pending which battery pack they will introduce this model with as a battery and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to the Chinese and international markets.
