On August 13, 2026, the Chinese EV carmaker BYD added a new ‘new energy vehicle’ to BYD’s Dynasty series. The newly introduced model is the BYD Qin Max, a B-segment sedan with pure-electric and plug-in hybrid electric powertrains. Under BYD’s Dynasty series, there are multiple models with the names of Qin, Han, Tang, Song, Yuan, and Xia.
In the Qin lineup, two models were available for sale before yesterday; with the launch of Qin Max, the third model was added. Notably, two earlier models are Qin Plus and Qin L; they are also on sale as EV and PHEV. The recently launched Qin Max model is placed above two existing models; they have introduced 5 EV and 4 PHEV variants, whose prices are as follows.
Pure-electric:
- 530 km Leading: 109,900 yuan (16,485 USD)
- 530 km Transcendence: 119,900 yuan (17,985 USD)
- 530 km Excellence: 129,900 yuan (19,485 USD)
- 630 km Transcendence: 132,900 yuan (19,935 USD)
- 630 km Excellence: 143,900 yuan (21,585 USD)
Plug-in hybrid electric:
- 230 km Leading: 99,900 yuan (14,985 USD)
- 230 km Transcendence: 109,900 yuan (16,485 USD)

The PHEV’s base variant is 10,000 yuan (1500 USD), affordable by the EV’s standard trim. Notably, this electrified sedan doesn’t conform with the God’s Eye B as standard. It is available as optional with the payment of 12,000 yuan (1800 USD).
The God’s Eye B is BYD’s latest ADAS that works with the roof-mounted LiDAR and features navigation autopilot for city driving and highway cruising, intelligent parking, and other smart features. They are also offering the double-channel body color options with an additional payment of 3,000 yuan (400 USD).
In terms of length, width, and height are 4,866 mm, 1,880 mm, and 1,495 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 2,820 mm and front and rear track of 1,620 mm. Sits on 18-inch alloy wheels, equipped with MacPherson independent at the front and five-link independent at the rear. The top-end variant of both PHEV and EV gets DiSus-C, BYD’s Intelligent Damping Body Control System, which ensures a smooth driving experience for all.
In mid-July 2026, BYD previewed the Qin Max, releasing the official exterior image, and after which they made public the interior photos in the last week of the same month, showing what it got inside. Now, they have finally launched the model for the domestic market, which is all set to take on Geely Galaxy A7, Changan Nevo A07, Chery Fulwin A9, Leapmotor C01, and GAC Aion S.
The EV version gets a PMSM, which is mounted on a rear axle featuring a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain. Depending on the variant, it generates the power of 120 kW (161 hp) or 240 kW (322 hp). Get the second-generation BYD Blade Battery pack under the floor, with options of 52.868 kWh and 64.315 kWh with the 530 km and 630 km, respectively, on the CLTC condition. Their top speed is 190 km/h, and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is under 5 seconds for the more powerful variant.
And the PHEV version gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol-powered internal combustion engine under the hood, whose power output is 74 kW (99 hp). Features a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle that delivers the power of 175 kW (235 hp). It also gets a lithium-ion battery pack; depending on capacity for different trims, it can run up to 230 km or 320 km. The maximum combined range is 2,370 km with a fuel efficiency of 2.59 liters per 100 km.
