BYD’s Denza has officially confirmed the Denza N8L EV, a luxury electric SUV, launch date for the Chinese market. The launch is all set to take place on September 14, 2026, with the unveiling of the price and all the pending details. The launch of the model will happen as a rival to the Yangwang U8, Zeekr 9X, Li Auto L9, AITO M9 EV, and NIO ES8.
Timing for the launch is still pending, but reports confirm that the brand will launch the model, organising the Super Intelligent Agent “Didi Xia” + Denza N8L EV Launch Event.

Multiple variants with different battery packs and drivetrains will go on sale on the scheduled date. To provide the choice, the Denza will launch the car with different colour options; some exclusive paint jobs may also be available for top-trim variants.

The Denza N8L EV is equipped with a 130.15 kWh BYD FinDreams LFP Blade Battery pack, giving a CLTC range of 960 km, but real-world use will depend on driving style and weather conditions. It gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor with single-speed automatic transmission on the rear axle making its a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain car.
The PMSM delivers 370 kW (503 hp), which helps this electric car reach the maximum speed of 240 kmph. Its curb weight is 3,110 kg, and the wheelbase is 3,075 mm. The length, width, and height are 5,200 mm, 1,999 mm, and 1,820 mm, respectively. It is a six-seater electric SUV in a 2-2-2 layout with the zero-gravity captain chairs in the second row for enhanced seating comfort.
There’s a 208-litre frunk that features powered opening and closing, which can be used to keep the camping gear. For ensuring a smooth driving experience even on uneven roads, this car is equipped with DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension. Also features active rear-wheel steering, which reduces the turning radius with the up to ±10 degrees turn.

God’s Eye B, BYD’s latest ADAS suite, is set available as standard, which works with roof-mounted LiDAR 5-millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 12 cameras and features highway, urban, and point-to-point navigation assistance, navigation assistance, automated parking, and obstacle avoidance.

In the Chinese market, Denza is selling a total of six core models: D9, an MPV as BEV and PHEV; N7, a mid-size SUV as BEV; N8L, a six-seater SUV as PHEV; N9, a full-size SUV as PHEV; Z9, a luxury sedan as BEV and PHEV; and Z9 GT, a shooting brake as BEV and PHEV. The upcoming one is the N8L, a six-seater SUV, as a BEV; it is already on sale as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
The launch is set to boost the sale of this model in the coming month. In 2026, a total of 101,738 units of Denza models have been sold, with 6,002 in January, 5,501 in February, 7,133 in March, 11,250 in April, 16,303 in May, 20,352 in June, 19,196 in July and 16,001 in August. On the year-on-year and month-on-month basis, the sale for the Denza cars has decreased by 33.4% with 4,008 fewer sales and 16.6% with 3,195, respectively.
