Tata Motors' EV Lineup to Double From 6 to 10 Models by FY2031

By the financial year 2031, Tata Motors is going to have 10 electric vehicle models; they are already selling 6 models that are the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV, and Harrier EV. The seventh EV model is set to be the Sierra EV

The manufacturer will introduce the Sierra EV to the domestic market on June 30, 2026; its price is still pending, but it is likely to cost between 19.5 lakh and 26.5 lakh rupees, as this upcoming EV is going to sit between the Curvv and Harrier EV.

The all-electric Sierra is set to be the second model that will come with quad-wheel drive in the EV lineup after the pure-electric Harrier. Notably, the Sierra Electric is set to come with two lithium-ion battery packs that are 65 kWh and 75 kWh.

Notably, the single-motor rear-wheel drive variant will be available with both a standard and long-range battery pack, and the double-motor quad-wheel drive will make its debut with the larger one, giving a range above the RWD standard range but less than the RWD long-range.

In terms of design, the upcoming pure electric version of Sierra is quite similar to its ICE counterpart. Tata Motors has already revealed the design of the seventh model in the EV lineup; upfront it gets a closed-off grille, split headlights setup, flush-type door handles, and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

After introducing the Sierra EV, Tata Motors is all set to introduce the eighth model that is a pure electric version of Safari. The upcoming Safari electric is highly expected to make its debut during the festive season; it is going to be the flagship EV from the company.

Following the launch, the Safari EV will become the only model in the brand’s EV that features a seating capacity of 3 rows. Notably, it will be positioned above all the models available in the pure electric by that time.

Reportedly, the Safari EV will start with the ex-showroom price of 25 lakh rupees; they will also make it available with two battery packs. There’s a high chance that its standard variant will get a 75 kWh battery pack, and the top trim may come with 85 kWh.

It is certain that the pure-electric Safari from Tata Motors will come with a very fast DC charging speed, which may add to the ARAI-certified range of 300 km with just the 15-minute charge. However, actual details regarding it are still to emerge.

The ninth EV model from Tata Motors is likely to come under the banner of Avinya, a premium car brand. Many reports say that the manufacturer will first introduce a Fastback using the Chery-JLR Freelander platform. As of now, they haven’t revealed any details about the launch of the EV.

The first EV under the banner of Avinya will come in the first half of 2026 with a double-motor, one on each axle, quad-wheel-drive drivetrain whose power output is anticipated to be around 500 bhp, making the 0 to 100 km/h under 5 seconds.

The manufacturer has already patented the steering wheel and dashboard of the EV, which comes under the Avniya banner, showing that it will get a two-spoke steering wheel and a large floating horizontal touchscreen infotainment system.

Details regarding the launch of the 10th model from Tata Motors are still to emerge. Many reports say that after introducing the Fastback under the Avinya banner, they will come with an electric SUV based on the Avinya X concept.

The second EV under the Avniya banner will be the 10th pure electric car from Tata Motors and is most expected to make its debut in India in 2028 or 2029. Notably, following the launch, it will compete with premium all-electric SUVs in the segment.
