The Aiva, an EV brand from Chongqing Saidou Technology that is backed by carmaker Seres and battery giant CATL, will soon launch Aiva ME7, the first all-electric vehicle, in the Chinese market. China’s MIIT filling catalogue release for the vehicle has not only revealed the exterior design but also the core specifications.

In the Chinese market, the Aiva ME7 launch is expected to happen around late 2026, as per the report. The official date for the launch is still pending. Now, it is clear that this all-electric SUV will make its debut with both RWD and AWD drivetrains. The five seats inside the cabin in 2-3 configurations are certain with the unveiling of its size and wheelbase.

The MIIT filing release confirms it to be 4,999 mm longer, 1,999 mm wider, and 1,616 mm or 1,626 mm higher, depending on roof equipment. Even though its dimensions have emerged, the distance between the front and rear axles is 3,050 mm. For clarity, its wheelbase compared to the Xiaomi YU7 is 50 mm more and 52 mm more than the Xpeng G9.

The ternary lithium-ion batteries are used for both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, but the capacity is still pending. Both the RWD and AWD have the electric motor on the rear axle that Chongqing Qingshan Industrial has manufactured, even though the model details have surfaced. The electric motor model is QT63TZ220001.

The AWD variant features two electric motors; the one available at the front axle is manufactured by Chongqing Jinkang Powertrain, and the model of the same is YY63YS230003. Details that surfaced via the China MIIT filing also reveal that the electric motor on the rear delivers 270 kW, and the one on the front axle puts out 150 kW.

Among the revealed, it is also available that the combined power output is 420 kW for the variants that have two electric motors. Other surfaced information is the maximum speed of 250 kmph for all trims and a 700 kg towing capacity. Reportedly, the red brake callipers and a black roof option will be available as optional for both trims.

Apart from these details, all other specifications and features are still pending for the Aiva ME7 electric SUV. The images that China’s MIIT has released are similar to the model that Aiva showcased on September 30, 2026, at the Paris Fashion Week. Talking about its exterior design, it is quite futuristic, aero-optimized, and modern.

The recently surfaced images have given a clearer view of its design. Upfront, a LiDAR is available on its roof. It is a clear hint that the first EV from Aiva will have an intelligent ADAS suite. The split headlights setup can be seen; the modern LED DRLs are placed above the main headlamps, which house both high beam and lower beam, below.

On the sides, you can see Y-shaped spoked wheels that are bracketed with the circular wheel arches cladding. The ORVMs, which also integrate side indicators, are placed on the front door instead of the A-pillar, and semi-hidden flush-type handles are present on the front door.

The rear of the Aiva ME7 electric SUV clearly shows a slim horizontal-shaped taillight that is connected with the black trim at the center. Other details that are visible on the back are the Aiva lettering present on the tailgate between the taillight and the roof-integrated spoiler.

Nothing regarding its interior is disclosed. Even though there’s no word from the Aiva for it. The carmaker will unveil the undisclosed design and details by the due date. To stay updated about the Aiva ME7 electric mid-size SUV, make sure you stay connected with us via social media.
