The Honda 0 Alpha is an upcoming all-electric mid-size SUV, which has finally got a global debut date. Honda Cars India will showcase this model on December 2, 2026, as per the report. The official confirmation is still awaited from the manufacturer that only the unveiling will happen on the scheduled date and the market launch too.

This upcoming mid-size all-electric four-wheeler from Honda is all set to be the first model to come to India with a battery electric powertrain. The global debut is all set to happen around 14 months after the showcase of the concept version. Reportedly, it is still uncertain if the nameplate will be Honda 0 Alpha for the first all-electric car from Honda.

Honda 0 Alpha debut.

The Honda 0 Alpha global debut is one of the most awaited events by EV enthusiasts across the globe, because its launch won’t only happen in India but also in overseas markets. This upcoming Honda electric car has been spotted testing multiple times on the public roads, due to which many details regarding its design have emerged.

The spy shots of test mules also include some photographs that show glimpses of the dashboard revealing what it is likely to get inside the cabin. As for technical details, very limited information is available in the public domain. Honda itself has confirmed that there will be an LFP battery pack, but their capacity is still unknown.

How’s its design likely to be?

Honda Cars India itself has confirmed that this upcoming all-electric SUV is built on the brand-new global EV development philosophy “Thin, Light, and Wise,” not the traditional one. Its sightings on the public road in India have already confirmed that it will feature an upright, boxy silhouette with a tall roofline and a generous glasshouse.

Things that we get to know through the spied images of the prototype are the closed-off grille and rectangular LED headlamps. Seeing the sides, it looks like an MPV because of the thick C-pillar. Squared-off wheel arches, hidden flush-type door handles, and a front door mounted outside the rearview mirror are the features that are clearly visible on the surfaced spy shots.

Only a few details regarding its rear design have emerged. Test mule spied images show a braking light on the top, a roof-integrated spoiler, taillamps on the side on the windshield, and a flat tailgate. Likewise, for the design, the dimensions are also pending. Reportedly, the distance between the front and rear axles measures between 2.7 meters and 2.8 meters.

Anything about interior features.

The Honda Cars India will reveal the cabin design and the features at the launch event. Reports suggest that this electric set is set to have smart features and technology with a focus on ensuring better comfort and convenience for all. We will get to know about all the features with its unveiling.

As mentioned above, one of the spied images has given a glimpse of the cabin. In the same image, we get to see a large floating touchscreen infotainment system at the dashboard’s center with the screen on. Another visible detail is the horizontally oriented digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

It is tough to say about the size of these screens. Visually, the central mounted one is larger than the one placed before the driving seat. The steering wheel is also visible in that spy shot, but the darkness inside the cabin hides its design. The steering wheel seems to be three-spoke with the Honda logo at the center.

What about the powertrain?

Honda hasn’t even released any single details for its first all-electric SUV powertrain. Even details regarding the drivetrain are uncertain, because we don’t know if it will debut as front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, or all-wheel-drive.

In the Indian market, the Honda 0 Alpha will get tough competition from other SUVs such as the Mahindra BE 6, the Hyundai Creta Electric, and the Tata Sierra EV, as per the report, so we expect performance near similar to its rivals.
