On July 23, 2026, BYD released the official image of the BYD Da Han EV, an all-electric D-segment flagship sedan, revealing the exterior design. It comes under the Dynasty 9-series lineup and sits above the BYD Han EV. Reportedly, it will make its global debut at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, which is all set to take place August 21 to 30, 2026.
The image they have released shows the front, side, and rear of the vehicle. Upfront, it gets a sculpted bonnet, an LED full-width daylight running light with integrated high beam and low beam. Features active air intakes below the number plate holder and air curtains on the sides. Equipped with LIDAR on the roof, reflecting it has intelligent ADAS.
On the sides, we get multiple-spoke large alloy wheels, double-toned outside rear-view mirrors with integrated side indicators. The handles of doors are flush-type to ensure better aerodynamics. Get blacked-out window trims, add a floating roof effect, and flared wheel arches add styling to the side view. Features a long wheel and decent ground clearance.
Get a roof-integrated rear windshield and a full-width LED taillight with the BYD logo in the center for the branding of the company. Features a bumper-integrated side reflector in a horizontal shape, which makes the vehicle visible at nighttime. Other notable features at the rear are a minimalistic tailgate for the cleaner view and black bumper cladding.
The length, width, and height are 5,256 mm, 1,999 mm, and 1,510 mm, respectively. Features a seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts. Thanks to a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, it gives ample legroom for all occupants. As a five-seater, it features a large boot space behind the second row, which helps in carrying the big luggage conventionally.
The electric vehicle is available as a rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variant with the maximum power output of 370 kW (496 hp) and 570 kW (764 hp), respectively. The RWD gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a one-speed automatic gearbox at the rear axle, and the AWD gets all from the RWD and an induction motor on the front axle.
Equipped with the second-generation BYD Blade 102.326 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, giving the CLTC range of 1,008 km and 880 km for the RWD and AWD variants, respectively. They are yet to reveal 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing. Notably, the RWD variant gets a top speed of 240 km/h, and AWD has a maximum speed of 270 km/h.
The company claims that it is built on a 1,000-volt high-voltage platform supporting BYD ultra-fast DC chargers up to 1.5 MW, which take 5 minutes for 10 to 70 percent charging. For up to 97 percent charging, it takes 9 minutes. Even in extreme weather conditions such as -30 degrees Celsius, it takes only 12 minutes for 20-97% charging.
They are yet to reveal the interior and features. Reportedly, the cabin is set to get a four-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons and the BYD logo. A digital instrument cluster is set to be available behind the steering, and also an augmented reality head-up display projecting the driving-related information on the windshield is anticipated.
A touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard is all set to be available, supporting wireless smartphone connectivity for video and audio streaming. It will have more than 100 connected car technologies with over-the-air software updates to keep the system upgraded. An AI-based voice assistant is certain, which will do the touch-based things over natural voice command.
Other features that we are expecting inside the cabin are two wireless phone charging pads and two cup holders on the center console. A ceiling-mounted screen for rear-seating passengers is also expected. The front seats are highly anticipated to be ventilated, heated, and powered. They both are likely to also support massage functions, which removes fatigue for long-distance travel.
