BYD Auto has revealed the third generation of the Atto 3, an all-electric crossover SUV, at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 on April 24, 2026. In China, it is known by the name of the Yuan Plus. Its domestic launch will take place soon in multiple variants with the price range from 102,000 to 120,000 Chinese yuan, which translates to 14,000 to 17,000 in US dollars.
101 Litres Frunk
The all-new Atto 3 is a five-seater SUV with a layout of two and three seats. Its length is 4,665 mm, width is 1,895 mm, height is 1,675 mm and wheelbase is 2,770 mm. Compared to the outgoing model, the all-new Atto 3 is 210 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 60 mm higher, and even its wheelbase is increased by 50 mm.
Two options for wheel size are set to be available, which are 18 inch and 19 inch. The boot space is also increased, but the figure is yet to be revealed; however, it is likely capable of carrying 5 pieces of big luggage. Notably, it also gets a frunk ‘front trunk storage’ of 101 litres to carry small bags.
Semi Flush-Type Door Handles

The third-generation Atto 3 gets Sharp LED headlights in dragon-eye styling to give a sporty look. The vehicle has a chrome connecting strip that runs between the headings to add the brand’s signature element. Comes with a closed-off grille, same as the outgoing model, for better aerodynamics.
On the sides, the car features a longer and more proportional body to give a balanced stance; handles for the side door are semi-flush type to ensure practicality and also reduce drag. It runs on large alloy wheels which improve road grip and features a slightly sloping roofline that adds a coupe-like touch.
The back of the crossover gets a full-width LED light bar which not only gives a high-tech signature but also enhances its width. The tailgate is minimal with smooth surfaces to add a clean look; it has a roof spoiler that is quite sporty, which adds aggression. Its rear bumper is sculpted with subtle sporty cues.
Built-In Refrigerator

The car’s cabin is equipped with a large-screen floating infotainment system that controls navigation, media, and vehicle settings and an LCD instrument cluster that shows driving data, including speed, range, and battery. The features of HUD are also available, which project driving information on the windscreen to help the driver stay focused on the road and drive safely.
It gets a two-spoke steering wheel, two wireless phone charging pads, a sixteen-speaker premium audio system, multi-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, ergonomic sporty seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions, a built-in refrigerator for the cooling and heating and a powered tailgate for easier access to boot space.
The infotainment system supports connected car features and smart controls featuring an improved UI and multimedia controls with OTA updates. It gets a DiPilot 300 system with LiDAR, an ADAS whose key features are adaptive cruise control, lane assist and collision avoidance, which make the driving semi-autonomous.
Two Battery Packs
The all-new Atto 3 comes with a single PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) that is mounted on the rear axle, featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. The car gets a single-speed automatic gearbox. The motor generates the power of 200 kW (268 hp) and 240 kW (322 hp) with the standard battery pack and large battery pack, respectively.
It is available with a two-blade 2.0 battery pack, which are 57.545 kWh and 68.547 kWh, whose CLTC range is 540 km and 630 km, respectively. It supports BYD’s megawatt-level ultra-fast charger, which takes 5 minutes for 10-70% charging and 9 minutes for 10-97%; in the case of -30° celcius, it takes only 3 more minutes for the charging.
