Chery Fulwin A9 Wagon Showcased: Concept EV with 700 km Range and LiDAR ADAS

One of the leading Chinese automakers, Chery, showcased the Fulwin A9 Wagon as a concept electric vehicle at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. It is a shooting-brake version of the Fulwin A9 sedan, which comes with an extended rear design to improve the boot space.

The production of the vehicle is yet to start, but it is more likely that the public will get to see it as a production model at next year’s Beijing Auto Show. Nothing about its launch is confirmed, but it may happen in the middle of 2027 with a price of ¥180,000 to ¥250,000 in China ($26,000 to $36,000 in the US).

Dimensions & Exterior

Chery Fulwin A9 Wagon Front Design

The wagon version of Chery’s Fulwin A9 is expected to have the same wheelbase of 2,928 mm, width of 1,908 mm, and ground clearance of 160 mm, but the length and height of the car are likely to be increased a little. Its production model may come with 4.95 meters of length and 1.5 meters of height.

The front fascia of the wagon version will be the same as its sedan with slim LED headlights and DRLs (daylight running lights) in a signature lighting style to improve visibility and a closed-off grill for modern EV styling and improved aerodynamics.

On the sides, it will feature a long and flowing roofline to give it a strong road presence. Flush-type doors are certain to reduce drag, which helps in improving efficiency, and are set to get the large and modern alloy wheels to run on the road with better grip.

At the rear, it will feature connected LED taillights and add a premium touch, a large and simple tailgate for a big boot, a sloping roofline for sporty styling, and a lower loading lip for convenient loading and unloading.

Interior & Tech

Like the Fulwin A9 sedan, the wagon version will also feature a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3. The boot space is expected to be around 600 liters, which will be expandable by folding the rear seats.

The vehicle gets a Lingxi AI cockpit system that is powered by a 3 nm automotive chip supporting multi-screen interaction and voice-controlled functions. The cabin is set to be equipped with a large floating infotainment system for passengers and a digital instrument cluster for the driver.

It may also feature a separate screen for front-seating passengers for entertainment purposes. To enhance the audio experience like a mini theater, it will feature Boya’s 23-speaker premium sound system. The ambient lighting and wireless phone charging pad are also likely.

To make the driving stress-free and semi-autonomous, the vehicle is set to feature LiDAR-based Falcon 700 ADAS that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip with high computing power. The two main features are highway assist and urban navigation assist.

Motor & Performance

The wagon version of the Fulwin A9 sedan comes with a double-motor all-wheel drive configuration and single-speed automatic transmission. It may sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in just 5 seconds, and its top speed may go up to 200 km/h (125 mph).

It may get a battery pack around 80-100 kWh, whose CLTC range is set to be 700 km (435 miles). Its battery system is referred to as the ‘Rhino E battery’ with 195 Wh/kg energy density, which operates in extreme weather conditions such as -40°C to 60°C. At the temperature of -30°C, its retaining capacity is 90%.

The vehicle is based on an electrical architecture of 800 volts and supports ultra-fast charging. Reports say that the vehicle with the standard battery pack takes 15 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging.
