The Chinese automaker Geely showcased Emgrand, a compact sedan, with the i-HEV Smart Hybrid system at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, which is built on BMA Evo modular architecture. Its launch in the Chinese market may take place in Q2 2026.
Prior to launch, the automaker will start presales, and then within a month it will be introduced to the market after the arrival of the vehicle at the dealership. It is highly expected that the price will range from 90,000 to 120,000 yuan (13,200-17,600 dollars).
Dimensions & Exterior
The new Emgrand’s dimensions will be revealed near launch; its measurements are expected to be the same as its sister’s, which comes with an internal combustion engine powertrain, whose length is 4,815 mm, width is 1,855 mm, height is 1,480 mm, wheelbase is 2,755 mm, and ground clearance is 150 mm.

Up front, it gets a polygonal grille with vertical slats, which gives it a bold and premium identity, and three-segment daylight running lights that are integrated with the LED headlights to improve visibility and add a little techy touch. The bumper at the front is a little sporty and features a lower trapezoidal intake for cooling.
On the sides, it features traditional door handles for better practicality; large alloy wheels ensure better road grip, and the smooth shoulder line gives it a flowing and elegant stance. The rear features a connected LED taillight strip for modernness and a minimalist bumper for the uncluttered styling.
Cabin & Technology

Since there’s no change in size, the Emgrand i-HEV also comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3 with the same cargo space of 500 liters that is capable of carrying the 4 pieces of big luggage.
The vehicle comes with the Full-Domain AI 2.0 system, which uses temperature, altitude, and traffic conditions for power delivery, energy usage, and driving response; and the Aegis Battery Safety System that does intelligent monitoring of the battery, fuel system, and cooling.
The cabin is set to be equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard and a fully digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel, which can be controlled via voice command as it gets an AI-powered voice assistant and also supports wireless connectivity via smartphone.
It gets soft-touch material seating for better comfort and separate rear AC vents that keep the occupants cool during hot weather. Another notable feature is EOC (Engine Order Control), which reduces the engine noise and gives a very quiet cabin experience.
Powertrain & Performance
The new Emgrand comes with an i-HEV Smart Hybrid system, which includes a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which is mounted with a P3 electric motor, and features a 1 kWh battery pack, whose power output and peak torque are yet to be revealed but may be disclosed around the launch.
Notably, the hybrid system uses NordThor AI hybrid tech, which operates in only electric mode during traffic and slow speeds and in hybrid assist mode for city driving and with the motor and engine in case of highway cruising, which reduces the engine use by 27%.
With the hybrid system, the vehicle is expected to achieve the fuel efficiency of 2.5 liters for 100 km driving. The motor is mounted with the front axle featuring a front-wheel drive (FWD) drivetrain, and its transmission is a dedicated hybrid transmission.
Notably, the i-HEV hybrid system has acceleration of 0-30 mph in 1.8 seconds, which is much quicker than the other hybrid system. The top speed of the vehicle will be announced later, but reports say that it can be around 175 km.
